My advice to those starting a cycle

Take a week off before you start. During that week don't touch a weight and more importantly, eat minimally - get your 1g/protein per lb of bodyweight, but keep everything else in check. Then when you start - start increasing your food intake consistently so by week 3 or so you're inhaling everything in sight. I think the week off is important because it gives your body time to recuperate from past training and more importantly it replenishes you for the mayhem you are about to engage in. I'm only on Day 5 of my cycle but I'm so glad I took a week off before I started, because I can feel that by next week I'll be ready to throw some serious weight around.
 
If you cycle your training and have diet/rest down, you wont that specific week off. By the time one turns to juice he should know when HIS body needs a rest. I want my WHOLE time on to be at peak performance so I start my cycle before the sauce and start the sauce once I hit a sticking point...

If that works for you great, but I don't see the need to stop working out in prep for a cycle. Unless there is some type of injury, then I'd say postpone the cycle until you are completely healed. With the addition of aas, your body will be able to recover much faster than before. As long as your getting enough rest during the cycle there isn't a need for a pre-cycle rest.

But like I said, you know what works best for you. Good luck with your cycle bro.
 
I usually take a week of light training every 6 weeks(depending on where I'm at with a cycle). But I find for myself working out and setting goals on a 6 weeks basis works well for me. Train excrutiatingly hard for 6 weeks, then do a light week and repeat. My point is I can understand your logic for resting a week before you hit a cycle. Whether it's necessary I wouldnt think so.
 
I did a week off weights just cardio for that week, and came back on my cycle strong as hell it was a pretty sweet feeling!
