My 2 week trial run with DNP

razer2000

New member
Well, I just took my last dose of DNP, ending what was a pretty interesting two weeks. Actually, it's 16 days but who's counting?

Here's a quick recap:

Week One - After not feeling anything at all for the first 3 days, I was convinced my stuff was either total bunk or way underdosed. I even told my source that.

Then on the third day, after downing 600 mgs. I got to know what DNP was all about.

After experimenting with 600 mgs. for a few days, I got cocky and added another 400 mgs. to the 600 mgs. I took a few hours earlier. I don't recommend this to anyone. I had very important things that HAD to be done that day - I mean a lot of money was depending on it - and I was under my desk napping for 20 minute intervals. Luckily, I found the strength to collect myself and do what I had to do, and just in the nick of time.

The rest of the week I kept at either 600 mgs. or 400 mgs., depending on how I felt. I even skipped a day altogether when I felt too uncomfortable. (I recommend this to those that are on longer cycles.)

Week 2 - This week pretty much went like week 1. I mostly kept it to 600 mgs. but I did skip a day when I felt the accumulation of too many sides. But on average I probably stayed at 600 mgs. per day.

Here are my observations:

1) Initial weight gain. I gained about 5 lbs. my first week. It was pretty discouraging. Luckily, it was water weight. I'll weigh myself again a few days from now when I feel "normal." (Right now I'm down about 5 lbs.)

2) Dehydration. Every morning I woke up with "cotton mouth." For some reason, it seems like a large percentage of your sweating will occur while sleeping. It's weird to be hydrated when you go to bed but to wake up dehydrated.

3) Workouts. I only did 1 while on DNP! Two factors had a hand in this: 1) my work and 2) DNP. It just so happened that I had an incredibly hectic workweek the first week. I put in 21 hours my first Monday, and must have put in 70 hours at the office the first week. Bad joss, I guess.

But more of a factor was how I felt. The DNP just took the fight right out of me. I was so uncomfortable and miserable I couldn't get myself up to go the gym. I'm sure there are some that are much more dedicated than me that will make sure not to miss workouts, but I had no motivation. I was suffering.

4) Appetite. It disappeared. At least for heavy foods it did. For those that haven't tried DNP, imagine taking a jog on the hottest day of the summer wearing a wetsuit under a mink coat. That's what you feel like. A hamburger or steak just doesn't do it - too heavy. I couldn't finish what would normally be a light meal. Only light foods like salads or cold things like smoothies were appetizing at that time.

5) Sweating. The worst part is when you come from a warm environment into a cool one. Get ready for at least 45 minutes of misery. And then there are the times when you just break out in sweats for no apparent reason. Yesterday, I was at the supermarket self-checkout and I just started sweating like crazy. I had to fan myself with one of those brown paper bags the whole time.

Things I will do different next time:

1) I will use the crystal version of DNP versus the powder. I want accurate dosages.

2) I will weigh myself and take accurate bodyfat measurements BEFORE I start. Because I thought my stuff was fake the first three days, I didn't bother getting the calipers or even breaking out my bodyfat scale. Nor did I even get any of the recommended supplements. The only thing I ever got was a multi-vitamin, but that was in week 2.

The first time I weighed myself was on Tuesday, the day after I started feeling the effects of DNP.

3) I will buy extra t-shirts and underwear. Luckily, I did pick up some extra t-shirts while I was shopping for supplies while at Sam's Club, but I just happened to see them while I was walking toward the checkout.

For those that are about to start DNP, take that advice to heart. You will soak through your t-shirts and underwear at least 2 or 3 times a day. You will have to do your laundry every other day if you don't own a ton of these crucial garments. I changed underwear and t-shirts at least 3 - 4 times a day on weekends. During the work week, as soon as I got home, I took a shower and changed into fresh clothes then went to sleep.

Imagine if you throw a trip to the gym in there. Get yourself a bunch of t-shirts (undershirts) and underwear. You won't be sorry.

4) Get a haircut! Next time I am getting a buzz cut before I start. As it was, my hair was constantly wet from sweat while "on." It was so uncomfortable! I think that is what took the fight out of me the most, even more than the sweaty neck or soaked-through t-shirt. It was the dripping, hot face and hair. I think having short hair will really make a difference.

5) Low dosages. Since I will be taking a more powerful version (crystal vs. powder) I will have to find the right dosage for me, but I want a dosage that I can tolerate. I don't like being 3 -4 hours late for work because I crashed and couldn't get myself out of bed. I don't like crawling under my desk and napping during the day because I feel so wiped out. And I especially don't like walking from my truck to my office then needing 45 minutes to "cool" down. Plus, I want to be able to muster the energy to workout and have a reasonable appetite.

Oh, and so far I'm only down 5 lbs. We'll see what happens after my last dose (1000 mgs.) wears off late tomorrow or Monday.

I'll compare this weight loss to the weight loss I get from a keto-genic diet that I am going to start as soon as I'm done with this DNP cycle. It will be interesting to see the results.

yes, good advice - definitely DO NOT take 1000mg of the crystal DNP. I cant workout while on DNP either - Im lucky if I can get any cardio in.

AM I CRAZY?? i feel like if i dont workout out and get my cardio done while on dnp i am just wasting my time and muscle.

i just came off of a 3 week 200-300mg a day crystal dnp cycle and i didn't miss a day of my dnp dose or a workout. i mean i felt like flat out shiiiiiiiiiit some days, threw up luch outside the fuckin gym before going inside, threw up at home a couple times, and still i got up and did 30min of weights and 30min of cadio.

im big and hard as hell but im wondering if lifting weights is that important while on dnp or cardio for that matter? what do you guys think?

I think you are just more dedicated that me, and probably most of us. The idea of puking before and after my workout would definitely turn me off toward working out.

It's 110 degrees where I live and just the idea of walking out to my truck is unpleasant. Working out wasn't even an option once the onset of the "sweats" hit me.

Working out such as weight training and more importantly, cardio, is something I notice that gives me the better results while on DNP.

If you did DNP and just ate a normal diet, you will still lose fat. But working out (weights and cardio) while dieting at least for me GUARANTEES a certain amount of fat loss per week. Let's say I want to lose 4-5lbs of fat in one week, I can pretty much guarantee it if I did the workouts. Just diet and DNP alone, I still may be able to hit it, but more than likely, I won't lose as much as I 'hoped' for.

YOu really don;t need per se, but it sure takes alot of the guess work out for you when trying to lose a certain amount of bodyfat within a specific time frame.

FIGHTING CRAVINGS

Ive tried DNP for a week once, at 400-600mg/day (powder). What are yous using to fight cravings, or is that just me?....I mean at night i would have these crazy urges to eat everything in my fridge?

A few things ive done:

- Eat more dense foods, as Fonz has stated before. Try to get some fiber in each of your meals. I love eating pork and beans when I get pretty hungry. Low calories and pretty filling. Other foods include fibrous veggies like brocilli, green beans, etc.

- Lower your carbs and replace em with more protein. I don't get the 'low blood sugar' blues when I do this, in fact at times I tend to feel better. Basically I just over 1.5 grams of protein/lb of my bodyweight. The extra protein 'might' help satisfy your appettite or at least keep it in check when doing this. Whenever I eat carbs, especially processed ones, my hunger goes way up.

- Try norephedrine, which you can purchase a cheap version at Wal-Mart called Dexatrim or something. Forgot the name cuz I haven't used it in a long time. It works and shouldn't give you too much problems with CNS stimulation.

Im on 200-300mg of DNP per day for the past few days now and my hunger is kept in check, I LOVE the low dose DNP, I feel I can stay on it forever. PLUS, many of us may be able to avoid 'MOST' if the free radical damage caused by low dose DNP, where I 'think' a higher dose of DNP would be much harder to handle EVEN with good amounts of anti-oxidants. I think there is less damage in free radicals comparing a 30 day, low dose DNP schedule to say a week of high dose DNP.
