Well, I just took my last dose of DNP, ending what was a pretty interesting two weeks. Actually, it's 16 days but who's counting?
Here's a quick recap:
Week One - After not feeling anything at all for the first 3 days, I was convinced my stuff was either total bunk or way underdosed. I even told my source that.
Then on the third day, after downing 600 mgs. I got to know what DNP was all about.
After experimenting with 600 mgs. for a few days, I got cocky and added another 400 mgs. to the 600 mgs. I took a few hours earlier. I don't recommend this to anyone. I had very important things that HAD to be done that day - I mean a lot of money was depending on it - and I was under my desk napping for 20 minute intervals. Luckily, I found the strength to collect myself and do what I had to do, and just in the nick of time.
The rest of the week I kept at either 600 mgs. or 400 mgs., depending on how I felt. I even skipped a day altogether when I felt too uncomfortable. (I recommend this to those that are on longer cycles.)
Week 2 - This week pretty much went like week 1. I mostly kept it to 600 mgs. but I did skip a day when I felt the accumulation of too many sides. But on average I probably stayed at 600 mgs. per day.
Here are my observations:
1) Initial weight gain. I gained about 5 lbs. my first week. It was pretty discouraging. Luckily, it was water weight. I'll weigh myself again a few days from now when I feel "normal." (Right now I'm down about 5 lbs.)
2) Dehydration. Every morning I woke up with "cotton mouth." For some reason, it seems like a large percentage of your sweating will occur while sleeping. It's weird to be hydrated when you go to bed but to wake up dehydrated.
3) Workouts. I only did 1 while on DNP! Two factors had a hand in this: 1) my work and 2) DNP. It just so happened that I had an incredibly hectic workweek the first week. I put in 21 hours my first Monday, and must have put in 70 hours at the office the first week. Bad joss, I guess.
But more of a factor was how I felt. The DNP just took the fight right out of me. I was so uncomfortable and miserable I couldn't get myself up to go the gym. I'm sure there are some that are much more dedicated than me that will make sure not to miss workouts, but I had no motivation. I was suffering.
4) Appetite. It disappeared. At least for heavy foods it did. For those that haven't tried DNP, imagine taking a jog on the hottest day of the summer wearing a wetsuit under a mink coat. That's what you feel like. A hamburger or steak just doesn't do it - too heavy. I couldn't finish what would normally be a light meal. Only light foods like salads or cold things like smoothies were appetizing at that time.
5) Sweating. The worst part is when you come from a warm environment into a cool one. Get ready for at least 45 minutes of misery. And then there are the times when you just break out in sweats for no apparent reason. Yesterday, I was at the supermarket self-checkout and I just started sweating like crazy. I had to fan myself with one of those brown paper bags the whole time.
Things I will do different next time:
1) I will use the crystal version of DNP versus the powder. I want accurate dosages.
2) I will weigh myself and take accurate bodyfat measurements BEFORE I start. Because I thought my stuff was fake the first three days, I didn't bother getting the calipers or even breaking out my bodyfat scale. Nor did I even get any of the recommended supplements. The only thing I ever got was a multi-vitamin, but that was in week 2.
The first time I weighed myself was on Tuesday, the day after I started feeling the effects of DNP.
3) I will buy extra t-shirts and underwear. Luckily, I did pick up some extra t-shirts while I was shopping for supplies while at Sam's Club, but I just happened to see them while I was walking toward the checkout.
For those that are about to start DNP, take that advice to heart. You will soak through your t-shirts and underwear at least 2 or 3 times a day. You will have to do your laundry every other day if you don't own a ton of these crucial garments. I changed underwear and t-shirts at least 3 - 4 times a day on weekends. During the work week, as soon as I got home, I took a shower and changed into fresh clothes then went to sleep.
Imagine if you throw a trip to the gym in there. Get yourself a bunch of t-shirts (undershirts) and underwear. You won't be sorry.
4) Get a haircut! Next time I am getting a buzz cut before I start. As it was, my hair was constantly wet from sweat while "on." It was so uncomfortable! I think that is what took the fight out of me the most, even more than the sweaty neck or soaked-through t-shirt. It was the dripping, hot face and hair. I think having short hair will really make a difference.
5) Low dosages. Since I will be taking a more powerful version (crystal vs. powder) I will have to find the right dosage for me, but I want a dosage that I can tolerate. I don't like being 3 -4 hours late for work because I crashed and couldn't get myself out of bed. I don't like crawling under my desk and napping during the day because I feel so wiped out. And I especially don't like walking from my truck to my office then needing 45 minutes to "cool" down. Plus, I want to be able to muster the energy to workout and have a reasonable appetite.
