Musical Taste Changes- years fly by....

Lovesong by the Cure: Is there anyone here who either does not like this song or has never heard it?

I was driving my cousins friends home the other night and this song came on. Damn what a difference 5 years makes. Cure, Depeche Mode, these bands dont even exist to these people. All they know about is Eminem and Ludacris.

It's a shame. I've always been open minded about music. In elementary school my favorite bands were 2 Live Crew, Def Leppard, NWA and Bon Jovi.

High school was 2Pac and Metallica. I always liked NIN but fell in love with them in the middle of my senior year and it's been that way since then.

Now I like basically everything. Mostly 80's (Depeche Mode, U2, Cure, TFF, other popular stuff), 90's rock (NIN, Radiohead), rap that doesn't suck (some DMX, some Ludacris, some Juvenile, Eminem, 2Pac), I do like some dance songs (not many). The Doors, Floyd, etc, new rock, etc etc.

But what the hell is with kids of today? So fucking narrowminded towards music. It's a shame that U2 performs at the MTV awards and they don't even know who these guys are.

I can understand why nobody would want to listen to Depeche Mode or The Cure.

It's all about where the creative force is .. popular music is not creative, and not pushing the limits of music .. We're living in an age where Richard Marx is considered good music.

Only Dance music today seems to be pushing the limits of what rhythm and a chord progression can go.

remember when guys older would try to get you to listen to Cream, Iron Butterfly, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin.. \

and you thought man that's old .... same thing!
