Muscle soreness question?

Do any of you really believe that a muscle group must be sore to get full benefit from a workout? I notice myself that at times when I drop my volume down pretty low from time to time for a few weeks, that I tend to get a bit stronger, this without being sore. What are your opinions. I personally don't believe that you must be sore the next day, to know you had a productive workout.
 
you dont have to be sore the next day,i agree with you.i personally think that as long youre tired and weaker after your workout its good.
 
the reason u get stronger is because your muscles r actually getting fully recovered. you r proly not giving yourself enough recovery time on heavy training cycles. either that or u arent eating enough protein and glutamine.
