Mr. X - Two Questions

glycemic index, low gi would consist of brown rice, sweet potatoes, some vegetables. high GI would consist of pasta, breads, white rice, fruits, ect.

complex carbohydrates have lower gi's and take longer to be processed as blood sugar. More simple carbs, dextrose being the most extreme, are almost immediately processed and that is why we use high GI carbs for insulin spikes.

What does GI stand for/what is it?

What are examples of low GI foods? high GI foods?

GI= Glycemic Index

GI INDEX:

The lower the GI the slower the Insulin spike= good for fat-loss

The higher the GI the faster and harder the insulin spikes = bad for fat loss, but good for post workout recovery

LOW GI- EX: YAMS (70)

HIGH GI- ED: Mashed potatoes w/o skin (100)

I was asking if it was from the Glucose Based Glycemic Index or White Bread Based. I see it's white bread. I really prefer to stay away from that one. Glucose based can be done in percentages so that's why I prefer it, it makes things easier. We should all follow one, just so we don't mix people up :p
