This is somewhat public info so I guess I can share with you. You're not in my "tight inner circle" but maybe this "newb" info will help you out. I've done both WU and MG several times, and they are nearly identical.
Main difference is with WU no ID required under $1000. MG usually asks for any amount. My experience with them anyway.

Step 1
Find a MoneyGram® branch using Find Us.
Step 2
Visit your MoneyGram® branch, taking some personal identification* with you.
Step 3
Complete a simple “send” form and hand this to the MoneyGram agent along with the money you want to send and the transfer fee†. You may also include a free 10-word message on the form.
Step 4
You will be given a reference number.
Step 5
Contact the person to whom you’re sending the money, and give him or her the reference number. In just 10 minutes** the money will be ready to collect.
* You may be required to provide personal identification, usually one or more of the following: passport, driving license, national identity card or a government issued identification. You may also be required to provide proof of address (bank statement or utility bill). Requirements vary by country so please ask your local MoneyGram® branch for acceptable identification formats.
