Molecular's 3-alpha (masteron) and estrogen

Hello everyone, I'm new here. I've been spending time using the search feature and reading up (and I'm pretty familiar with stuff on the web as well). However, I have a question that I couldn't really find answers to that way. Maybe someone here can help clear things up. This concerns end-of-cycle estrogen levels, and a new oral pro-hormone from Molecular Nutrition called 3-alpha.

3-alpha converts directly to DHT with a 40% conversion rate. I've read that it has some anti-estrogen effects. It's similar to masteron, in that it has zero aromatization. I've tried 3-alpha myself at the six caps a day level, and I can report that it certainly has strong androgenic effects; much more so than 4-androstenediol, for example. I tried this recently at the end of a mild sustanon cycle and so far it's fully restored libido and "vigor" back to my workouts (I'm currently about three weeks after my last sustanon, and both had definitely fallen). Here's a link for more info on it:

My question is whether 3-alpha might be good to take at the end of a cycle like this, perhaps instead of, or in addition to, clomid. Here's what I understand... please correct me if I'm wrong. During a test cycle, estrogen levels rise. When the test levels drop at the end of the cycle, the estrogen levels stay high for a while, and the imbalance of test and estrogen is what leads to gyno and feminized fat patterns. So my thinking is that adding 3-alpha at the end of a cycle would keep the andro/estro balance in check until the estro levels fall. Adding real masteron would also work, under this theory, if you could find it.

If I'm right, I'm guessing this would only be of benefit for mild cycles... I doubt it would suffice at 500 mg/week or more of test. Maybe real masteron would be effective here, but the 3-alpha will only make so much DHT because the liver enzyme is still a bottleneck, even at the 40% conversion rate.

The personal story here is that I picked up just a little sust for a first cycle, without any clomid. (I wasn't aware of the importance of clomid when I started.) I'm trying the 3-alpha now to see if it will carry me through the end-of-cycle period, without the estrogen bloat or gyno. I also have a big jar of tribulis extract from KiloSports of good potency that I'm hoping will help pick my T-levels back up again.

If anyone has advice for me now, I'd be very grateful. I'll report back my experience in another week or two in this same thread.

Well, I've learned more, so I'll reply to my own post, in case some future searcher hits on this. There are two problems with elevating DHT at the end of a cycle... the biggest is that this will continue to suppress testosterone levels, making recovery that much harder. The other is that if estrogen levels are elevated, then increasing DHT will definitely cause an increase of risk for prostate hypertrophy and cancer. The end of a cycle when estrogen is high is exactly the worst time to elevate DHT.

So, I've stopped taking the 3-alpha for now, and I'm relying on the tribulis to recover T-levels, along with some isoflavones for estrogen blocking. Again, this is because I find myself without clomid at the end of a mild testosterone cycle.

I will probably return to the 3-alpha, because my subjective experience so far shows it to be very effective in elevating androgen levels. There's no estrogen conversion, so it should be quite effective in cutting.

Also, for what it's worth, I've tried several of the 5-methyl-7-methoxy-isoflavone brands out there over the past few months, and I've found that Cytodyne's Isodyne works best for me. It has an even mix of the 5-Methyl-7-methoxy as well as 7-Isopropoxy isoflavones, plus some naringenin which they claim boosts the effect. Regardless of what they claim, it does seem to produce a more noticeable effect than the others I've tried.

Can you show me a reference that indicates that this compound has anti-estrogen properties?

What is the marketing strategy for this compound? DHT is not anabolic in muscle tissue. It is converted by a dehydrogenase to (I believe) androstanediol.
