Give me a good diet for a guy looking to lose 30lbs in 12 weeks. Im 231 lbs and i have money to buy any food that you recommend. If you can help me i would appreciate it greatly!
Post your diet in detail. It's easier to tweak your diet based on indication of what you like to eat. I can post a diet, but it doesn't mean it's tailored toward the things you like. And the number one key to a diet is that it's maintainable, and that means it must be in someway fit for you.
Rules of thumb I like to follow in general is:
1) Other than breakfact, don't have fats with carbs. Meals should be either protein and fats or protein and carbs.
2) Spread your fats out, and only take in 1 hour before next carb meal or 2 hours after your last carb meal.
3) Spread your carbs out - don't have any one meal/snack heavy in carbs.
4) Consume protein consistently throughout the day.
A good base plan is:
Upon waking, 15-20g whey shake (with little to no carbs)
Breakfast (healthy fats, slow carbs, protein)
First snack - healthy fats (nuts/cheese)
Second snack - a few slow carbs, protein
Lunch - slow carbs and protein
After lunch snack 1 - healthy fats (nuts/cheese)
Second snack - a few slow carbs, protein
Pre-workout - 20g protein
Post-workout - 40g protein, 40g slow carbs [lets avoid spiking your insulin even here]
Before bed - 20 to 40g casein protein, nuts
Based on the fact you seem to be obsessed a little about how you look throughout (the other post about looking flat), I'd try carb cycling. Maintain 40-50% of your calorie macros as protein, and alternate between a day where you have low carbs and higher healthy fats (20/30), and a day where you have higher carbs and lower healthy fats (40/10).
Again, this is what works for me to maintain muscle while cutting fat - may not work for you.
But post your diet and let's do some tweaking.
