Meds for 2 things

Ok, my sciatica acted up nearly 2 weeks ago and last Friday was so bad I could barely walk. Starting to loosen up, but still killing me. Stretches don't seem to be helping.

Woke up this morning and nearly fell over due to dizziness. I think it is a recurring ear infection, and my ears do not drain properly.

So, go to local clinic (2 1/2 hours for a 15 minute talk). Here is what he gave me.

Methylprednisolone
Psuedophedrine-guaifenensin TF
Carisprodol
Hydrocodone
Meclizine HCL
Naproxen

Any one have a clue what is for what? Some are for the back, pain killer and muscle relaxer. Some are for the head, anit dizzy drug, antihistamine and a anitbiotic. So, which is which, and if there is anyone that has a clue, can I take all that shit together? Any sites about this stuff?

Would be nice to get up in the morning and walk normal, and be able to go skiing before the freakin snow melts.

Good grief. Why all the meds?

Methylprednisolone is a corticosteroid used for inflammation. You may experience intractable hiccups from this or heartburn. Make sure you take your medicine with food.

Pseudoephedrine-guaifenesin is a decongestant. This may raise your blood pressure.

Carisprodol I'm afraid to say I'm not familiar with that one.

Hydrocodone is a narcotic pain medicine.

Meclizine is something used for dizziness. It's an anti-dopaminergic/anti-histaminergic.

Naproxen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicine, more powerful than ibuprofen (Motrin).

MAKE SURE YOU TAKE YOUR MEDICINES WITH FOOD AND MAKE SURE THAT IF YOU EXPERIENCE ANY HEARTBURN, YOU NOTIFY YOUR PHYSICIAN. This combination of medicines puts you at high risk for developing gastritis, ulcers, and bleeding complications from them.

well, it was for my lower back pain and sciatica. no hiccups or bad stomach, thank god.

figured it was for the sinus. woke up and nearly kissed the floor as I was dizzy with an infection. Cleared the infection, but other drugs make me just as dizzy

again, sciatica pain which is still there, mostly when I wake up

thanks for the info. Seems the sinus or dizzy spell is gone except the drugs make me dizzy at times. If I am on the meds, the sciatica is tolerable, but in the AM prior to taking them, I can barely stand. Finish the drugs, then if necessary back to the Doc. Maybe I shouldn't have been skiing the POW and TREES with the kids last week.
