Measure your own BF

Don't try and do it yourself...measuring bodyfat is not real easy to do...and a lot of those that do it..dont even do it real well. Get someone who knows what they are doing to do it and have the same person measure you each time..that way if there is small error you will be consistent and know if you are losing and so on.

In my ever so humble opinion if you are gonna use calipers you should do it yourself. Who else do you trust more than yourself. Granted that it makes some area impossible to test. But at least you know that your measurements are going to be consistent. Even if they are off..they will be consistent. If you calculate you body fat at 3% higher than it really is because you can only test 3 or 4 sites...it doesnt matter...because when YOU test it next time it will show whether it went up or down. The actually percentage isnt that important (other than to brag to your friends)...the CHANGE is what you are measuring to make sure you are headed in the right direction.

Having said that...IF you can find someone that knows what they are doing...then your measurement will probably be more accurate because of the increased number of sites that you can test.

My hubby and I have two sets of calipers. Digital and regular plastic ones. We take aprox 4-5 measurements etc. Its works real well and has helped us track our progress. Bought them both off of Netrition.com.
