Max Rep Per Set

I'm just wondering what is the best number of reps to do per set, and how many sets per body part for maximum gain. I currently am going between 5 and 8 reps and usually 3 or 4 different exercises per body part. Let me know if I should be doing anything different. Thanks guys!!

Big weights build big muscles. Massive weight w/ excellent form for as many reps as you can do till failure.

Yeh agree totally I had let my form slip a little and had picked up a nippy shoulder, Did my chest the other day but kept the reps slow controled with good form and had no problems.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I got a new question for you all now....I'm looking to change my routine a little for some variety and want some new exercises to do, can you guys help me out? Here's what I do now:

Chest: Dumbell presses (usually flat and then either incline or decline), cable cross-overs, and dumbell flies (incline or decline)

Shoulders: Arnold presses, military presses, cable rows, shrugs

Biceps: seated alternating curls, preacher curls (cambered bar), flat bar curls, 21's

Triceps: miscellaneous rope pull downs, supinated pull downs, kick backs

Back: Iso rows, iso pull downs, seated rows

Legs: Not a lot due to numerous surgeries, mostly calves with limited leg presses
