i remember you talking about your book a year ago. i assumed you couldn't find a publisher.

now that you have, how long until it is out, and what is the main topic(s)? is it anything like 'philistine and genius' by boris sidis. sidis's book was about how the educational system was designed to crush the spirit and promote intellectual mediocracy. or is yours more about how the educational system is designed to make working cogs instead of individuals with personal aspirations (i think that was your idea when you talked about it a while back).

btw, boris sidis used his own educational tactics on his son, and created one of the world's smartest men.

too bad his emotional IQ was probably in the severely retarded ragne. he could have offered alot to the world if he had a better personality.

I remember seeing a thread a month or so ago about it. I was thinking it was more of a technical manual. (networking)

anyway, skywalker is online now. so i want to see what happened with his educational theories, and what they evolved into, and how/if he plans to take them public.

Nordstrom,

This current book is a technical reference. (It is actually a series.) I am working on it right now.

The educational theories book....I have not forgotten it. I actually have begun something along those lines, which I hope to market to schools...ideally it would be nationwide, but relaisitically....well....let's see.

In this venture I address much of the personal development shortcomings of our educational system; the fact that all of the current metrics for our educational system (SAT, % to college, etc.) fail to even scratch the surface of measuring the success or failure of the educational system to the student, and worse, how students learn few productive lifelong lessons in school nowadays.

I was lucky as a kid: I went to public school, private (Catholic) school, and a new England boarding/prep school, so I "saw it all" as the educational system goes. I also experienced military education/training in the good old US Army. I have a decent perspective, and both my Mom and sister are teachers.

That book is forthcoming, as is one about the futility of the "college for everyone" mentality.

As for now, I am writing a tech book, trying to market this educational venture, working on a training plan for an insurance outsourcing company, and dreaming of writing a movie. I'm swamped.
