The dude never ages. And he uses Just for Men, or some other product.

And he gets paid a ton to cover sporting events.

Seems like professionally, he's got a pretty good thing going on.

And he's pretty short, I heard.

other than that, don't really know him. he could be a hooker-paying-woman-biting-sado-masochistic-nutjob in real life, like Marv Albert or something.

Now let me ask you this Matt. Would you express those same thoughts, if, you knew Costas's body was over 50% covered in tattoos? Or let me quote you "2. Guys with tattoos are usually announcing that they have risen to the level of assistant mechanic at the local dodge dealership. Data supporting whether this is a causal issue or a coincidence are incomplete "
still think the same as what I just quoted you saying yesterday?

I would say "I think he looks like shit, but he's done OK for himself. Like Allen Iverson".

I said clearly in my original post that "most tattoos are trashy".

I stand by that. It doesn;t mean tattoos preclude success. And I also said clearly that the data are inconclusive.

I still stand by the statement "Most tattoos are trashy". And by induction, yes, those who have them. :)

That's cool. I'm not looking for an argument. Just wanted your opinion. Thanks!

Does tattoo's change your opinion of a person Matt? For example: you meet an idol of yours in life, and never seeing him without a suit on, and let's say you are at a resort, and he takes his shirt off and has tattoo's. Would your perception change of that man?

I think what Matt is trying to say is that as a general rule, yes people who get tats are trashy. Certainly there are exceptions to the rule, and an exceptional person would not become less so because they had one. However most exceptional people would not get one.

I can't speak for Matt, but it would somewhat change my opinion of that person, I would be forced to see that my idol is capable of massive errors in judgement and questionable taste.

I understand where Matt is coming from. I find people will make a judgement on a person by their appearance. I can be dressed in Armani and be considerd upclass , but as soon as I shed the Armani and put on my Adidas pants and a T-shirt and people then can see I have a half sleeve, that changes their perception of me. I think it is funny.

No, I got it tattooed on my penis, so I can look at it while I'm jerking off.

El Dandy

So your concern is that...shudder...appearance matters?

Well yeah it does. It reflects a persons judgements. And frankly the world is too busy and hectic to take the time to make informed decisions about every single person one meets.

So frankly it isnt my responsibility to "take the time" to get to know everyone prior to reaching quick judgements, some of which may even effect their future. Rather it is incumbent on them to present themselves in such a manner as to maximize their personal self interest.

It's the same reason one doesnt show up for a job interview for a professional position dirty and in torn jeans.

You arent "entitled" to anything in life, including the benefit of the doubt
