Found this an interesting read. Maybe you will too?

"House Republicans Thursday unveiled a package of bills to combat drug abuse and vowed to make America virtually drug-free by 2002." - Reuters, May 1998

Welcome to 2002, Land of the Virtually Drug-Free. We are a people unanimous in our conviction to eradicate marijuana from the face of the earth. Or are we?

Despite 13 million marijuana arrests since 1970, several hundred billion dollars spent, and the development of the largest prison system in the history of the world, a record 34 percent of Americans believe that marijuana should be legalized.

The 64th year of modern Marijuana Prohibition, 2001, was characterized by a widening of the gap between the hard-line drug policies of the United States and the increasingly tolerant approach of many governments abroad. In May, the United States was voted off the United Nations Drug Control Board and Human Rights Board on the same day. Meanwhile Portugal, Switzerland and Belgium decriminalized personal possession of marijuana, and polls showed a majority favoring outright legalization in Britain and Jamaica. Forty-seven percent of Canadians polled favor marijuana legalization.

Despite a campaign promise that he would allew states to decide on the issue of medical marijuana individually, the newly-elected President George Bush reaffirmed his commitment to hardline prohibitionism through the appointments of John Ashcroft as Attorney General, and John P. Walters as Drug Czar. In their own words:

"I want to escalate the war on drugs. I want to renew it. I want to refresh it, relaunch it, if you will." - Attorney General John D. Ashcroft, February 7, 2001

Herb is a Godly creation from the beginning of the world. It is known as the weed of wisdom, angel's food and the tree of life. Its purpose in creation is as a fiery sacrifice to be offered to our Redeemer during obligations. The political worldwide organizations have framed mischief on it and called it drugs. To show that it is not a dangerous drug, let me inform the Elite members that it is used as food for mankind, and as a medicinal cure for diverse diseases. Ganja is not for commerce; yet because of the oppression of the people, it was raised up as the only liberator of the people, and the only peacemaker among the entire generation. Ganja is the sacramental rights of every man worldwide and any law against it is only the organized conspiracy of the United Nations and the political governments who assist in maintaining this conspiracy. Biblically marijuana is a seed-bearing plant. Botanically marijuana it is a herbaceous annual plant. Botanically and scripturally marijuana is a herb, a food. It is one of the finest of foods. Of all the plants in the world the seed of marijuana is second in protein only to soy beans. Marijuana seeds are the only food that provides essential amino acids and essential fatty acids in the ratio that is optimal for the human body. Humans can and have survived in robust health by eating marijuana seeds. The oil that is pressed from the seed has more polyunsaturated essential fatty acids than any other known oil.
The fact that modern Christendom has no sense of union with God has led to numerous churches without the understanding for building a Christian culture and kingdom to replace the confusion of modern politics. This lack of understanding was not lacking in the ancient church and was a major source of enthusiasm for the prophets of old. In fact, the power of the early church was manifested due to this understanding of the spirit of God dwelling in man, the temple of God. To the ancient prophets it was not a God above, nor a God over yonder, but a God within. "Be still and know that I am God" for the visionaries and mystics of every time and place, this has been the first and greatest of the commandments.

In 1 Corinthians 11:28 Christ said, "Let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread, and drink of the cup." Probably the most relevant study to date about what might be considered typical marijuana experience concludes that marijuana gives spontaneous insights into self.
The sacramentality of marijuana is declared by Christ himself and can be understood only when a person partakes of the natural divine herb. The fact is communion of Jesus cannot be disputed or be destroyed. Marijuana is the new wine divine and cannot be compared to the old wine, which is alcohol. Jesus rejected the old wine and glorified the "new wine" at the wedding feast of Cana. Cana is a linguistic derivation of the present day cannabis and so it is.
Isaiah 65:8 declares that the new wine is found in the cluster and that a blessing is in it. When one mentions clusters, one thinks of clusters of grapes. Webster's New Riverside Dictionary, Office Edition, defines marijuana: 1. Hemp 2. The dried flower clusters and leaves of the hemp plant, esp. when taken to induce euphoria.

Ganja, Reefer, Herb, Mary Jane, Buddha, Illness, Leaf, Bud, Nugs, etc has been given the most negative associaton due to lies and false exploits that the govt.(beast) imposes on the brainwashed and ignorant. The problem is that the brainwashed and ignorant make up the majority of the population. Thats some sad shit there. Bottom line- Herb is a seed, one puts it in the ground, it grows, it grows rather easily, it buds into beautiful flowers, how can something so innocent and natural become such a guilty entity.
-I bring nothing but punishment
-You know I'm running shit
-I'll have you running quick
-Upper cuts is what I'm coming with
-Fuck the government
-I grab the mic
-Thats when the thunder hits
-Never love a bitch
-Rhymes echo throughout the dungeon pits.

They cant go back now. They have built too many goverment agencies and prisions to combat this. They wont just throw up their hands and say "We made a mistake". Too much money is at stake. Prohibition serves their purpose.

If they did legalize, they are worried that it cant be regulated like booze can. The stuff grows wild, or people's basement . You can regulate that. Again, too much money at stake here. But ETOH, can be nicely regulated and taxed. Not to mention the DUI money. It is all in the script.

I dont even smoke it often at all (it is too good nowadays and makes me paranoid........geee I must be getting old), but you cant die from the act of smoking pot. No way. However, I can kill myself tonight at my local bar by drinking to death. Many people die from ETOH withdrawl. The same cant be said for weed. Which is worse?

And did you ever notice when there is a weed "dry spell" people start doing coke and other things. People are going to get off it is our nature.

But what they should worry about is that all the "just say no" and DARE propoganda they are telling kids about pot is mostly crap.. These kids will realize that one day then all credibility goes out the window. Which is basically where they are at now

Our drug policies are beyond retarded in this country.

(and BTW I don't even use drugs so I don't really have a personal bias on the issue)
