Mardi Gras in Naw'lins

The girlfriend and I were thinking of going until we came to the mutual conclusion that Mardi Gras is really a singles kind of place.
We both agreed that everyone involved would be made uncomfortable by the other earning beads--whatever that means.
So...No, no Mardi Gras. Now, Conference in Miami in March...that's another story.

I went to college down there so mardi gras "came to me" 4 times. I always had a blast.. however I did not go to "bourbon street" much, I stayed uptown near school and went to the parades and parties up there.... just more my style.
However you have to get lucky with the weather. 2 times it was cold, 2 times warm. I hope you have nice weather this year cause it sucks to be outside and freezing your ass off.

I dont agree with waht you said about MardiGras being a singles kind of place. My wife and I have been the last 3yrs(andplan on going back next week). Granted, If all you know about MardiGtras is what you see on the Girls Gone Wild videos, you're missing out.
Sure, there is plenty of debauchery in the quarter, but there is plenty to do at MG even if you dont make it to Bourbon St. Theres the zoo, aquarium, IMAX theatre, swamp tours, plantation tours, cemetary and vampire tours, HUGE parades, Awesome foods, and every kind of club you can think of! Check out www.mglinks.com to find out more of what you might be interested in. Surely theres something that will interest you.
I think you will miss out on a fun and excitng experience if you chose not to go JUST for the reason you mentioned.

I cannot wait for Mardi Gras. Heading down Thursday night. I'm just pissed because I will ruin my diet. No way I can go down to New Orleans and not indulge in the food.
