Maltodextrin / Dextrose mix post workout

Can somebody explain why it was recommended half Malto and half Dextose in the post workout drink for spiking insulin? Malto is also a form of simple carb, right?

P.S. I undersatnd the reason for simple sugar post workout, just wanna learn about the reason behind the ratio between malto and dextrose and what's the fucntion of mixing Malto w/ Dex.

thx in advance.

Both maltodextrin and glucose are very similar.

Glucose is free form glucose, where as maltodextrin is a polysaccharide of many glucose molecules bound together.

The reason they are often recommended to be stacked together is because glucose will illicit a higher insulin response then maltodextrin by itself because it is a free form of sugar, where as maltodextrin is a polysaccharide and will need to be digested into the individual glucose molecules before it can be absorbed.

Does that make sense? Both are very fast acting but the glucose will be slightly faster acting and immediately spike insulin where as maltodextrin will have a slightly more delayed response and will raise blood glucose levels slower.
