Making Bacteriostatic Water

1Banshee

New member
In doing research I ran into a post that stated Bacteriostatic water could be made with the following items:
100ml Distilled water
1ml Benzyl Alcohol
.22 Sterile filter
100ml sterile vial

Anyone know if there is any validity to this?? There were no further instructions. I assume you would mix the 1ml or BA with the distilled water, then filter into the sterile vial. Any input??? Thanks bros!!

Not sure where the BA comes in there... But you filter distilled water through a .22 filter... Thats accrording to our friend A... I dont think there is an BA in BC water

Here is why I believe you add the 1ml of BA:

Bacteriostatic Water for Injection, USP is a sterile, nonpyrogenic preparation of water for injection containing 0.9% (9 mg/mL) of benzyl alcohol added as a bacteriostatic preservative. It is supplied in a multiple-dose container from which repeated withdrawals may be made to dilute or dissolve drugs for injection. The pH is 5.7 (4.5 to 7.0).

The 1ml of BA mixed with the 100ml distilled water would create a solution just about equal to the above...

Im not sure, but I will be finding out tomorrow. Im having a hell of time finding Bacteriostatic water!!! Found the GH no problem, but no luck with the water.
