Hmmm, it'll take some time. Since it's the troops, it might get priority over other mail...
I'd say 2-3 weeks or so.

i hate to tell you but yea, 2 weeks is the average. it has to go through a lot of security check points and then they have to arrange to have it delivered to the area he is in. there is a lot involved. put little numbers on the bottom corner of the envelopes so he knows which one got sent first so he wont get confused. thats how we kept track. but yea snail mail sucks. but send him care packages, we loved those. i dont know what he is allowed to have over there but i always loved the care packages. one time my wife mailed me her panties she wore. oh that was the best. oh and we also went audio tapes also. we taped a conversation to the little tape recorders and sedn the tape to each other. some hot moments can be put on tape. there are a lot of things you can do and these are just a few... take care.

2 weeks...lots of checking before it's delivered...they don't want any bombs/anthrax/anything else that will hurt the soldiers to get delivered
-so theyll probbly open it up n read it and waste time and finally after 12-16 days give it to him

no they dont open it. they scan it thats all. but i did get some of my letters with boot prints on them. but no, they dont open them. but the email they do scan through to make sure your not passing on classified info. but the regular mail does not get opened. i never in my 12 years in the navy heard anyone getting their mail opened.

Doesn't always take that long. Depends on when they fill the containers. I've had some make it there in about 1 week. Others have taken much longer. When on of our soldiers sends you something from Iraq, it'll come here much quicker.

im flattered. thank you very much. i find that i feel much better when i help others. no deed is too small. i try to make at leased one person happy each day. whether in traffic i let someone go infront of me, or in the supermarket i let someone with less groceries go ahead of me in line, etc... i dont know, i try. i just hope people i help go and help others. thanks again guys.Yeah, she appreciates your help bro...bigmann245 said:are you guys talking about me..?

Anyhow, there's no harm in helping out if & when ya can...I'm pretty much the same. Believe me, the good folk recognize this.

i hear ya bro. she needs the support of good peeps. not assholes that post on her threads stupid shit that they dont understand. i feel bad for her when i read those. some people can be real hurtfull. im just glad she is able to look past that and find the kindness in people like you and i and smile.
