Any one watch this on the History Channel? The host is that funny ass drill sergeant from Full Metal Jacket,R.Lee Ermey.Has some great insight into weapons/tactics utilized by our armed forces both past and present,as well as some of the usual hilarious quips from R.Lee.

i just like listening to him... last night they were comparing lousivill'es head coach to him because he was a drill sgt as well and sounds a LOT like him... funny stuff, unless he is in your face i guess

There's a marathon of mail call going on right now on the history channel, but I think it's normally on at 8:00p.m. on Monday.I agree, this dude is one of the funniest mo-fo's I have ever listened to.In your face insults at their finest, lol.

at first i thought this guy was sort of gimmicked but he is honestly just like that...

Yes!He was a real drill sergeant in the marines and was notorious for being brutal, lol.I would have hated to be in his boot camp, haha.

he was a fucking stud when he was in the Corps.....was medically retired as a SSgt beacuse of wounds recieved in Vietnam. Was honorarily promoted to GySgt by MajGen Huly about 6 months ago because of all the things he's done for the Corps since he's been out.

He got into acting with Full Metal Jacket, he was the specialist hired to make sure everything was realistic, the directors liked his style so much they put him in the flick. The rest you know.

Yeah,I saw him talking about that on some special. He said that boot camps back in his day were much tougher than today. He said they could kick a private in the crapper full force or slap the shit out of him if he screwed up,lol.

The dude is a natural in front of the camera though eh fellas?! Even though he was a drill sergeant before he got the role in FMJ, imagine how intimidating it would be to know that in your fisrt movie role, when you have absolutely NO acting skills whatsoever, that you are being asked to perform for Stanley Kubrick, one of the legends of Hollywood directors. He nailed it. He is really good on Mail Call too, and the show is quite interesting as well. It tells you all kind of little things about the ins & outs of military wepontry. Cool stuff.

That's called being IRON under pressure.Nothing could bend this guy,he is hard-core to the bone.I agree, that show is extremely educational outside of Sgt.R.Lee's hilarious smack-downs.

I watch it, I wonder what his blood pressure is like yelling like that all day :D
