OK, lets not get into a Mac vs PC debate - ok?
Besides, any windoze user who gets into that with me, will lose. I have worked with all major OS's (and bill my time out at over $120 an hour to help people when I do ...) so lets not go there, at all.
Here are some facts and info, that will help people on this board.
The Hushmail engine (which elite mail uses) is very very Windoze-centric. Sure, it *will* work on some non-windoze OSs, but its obvious that all that company cares about is windoze because people using other OS's (not just MacOS, but also Linux, Solaris, etc) have a lot of problems with Hushmail, and Hush couldn't care less. I think they ONLY test on (or give a crap about) Windoze (which of course, is a tesing nightmare in and of itself, becuase there is now Win 95, 95, ME, 2000, XT, XP, etc etc etc ALL out there - LOL - good luck!)
The person that said that OS X (10) for Mac with the new MS Intenet Explorer 5.1 for Mac, will work, was correct. OS X has a much more robust and compatible version of a Java implementation.
Also, Mac users using OS 9.x and below (not sure how low though, probably only down to 8.5) may use Virtual PC and get hushmail to work correctly. I currently have VPC on My mac, and it's a simple matter for me to run Win 98, Win ME, and Win 2000, simultaneously. (Try THAT on a PC! LOL)
I have contacted Hushmail about these problems, and they dont seem to care. In fact, I have not been able to use my hush account since their load-of-shit version 2 upgrade. Others have had the same problem.
I contacted George (or someone in charge) here at Elite a while back about the fact that their mail engine is very very Windoze-centric, but they are not going to change. I respect that, if they want to ignore 20% of their potential users, that their choice (thats not a jab at them, its their business decsision, its their choice).
Meanwhile, Ziplip works well, and has always been better and easier to use than Hush anyway.
By the way - there IS PGP available for the Mac. I don;t know wher ethat guy got his info, but he is incorrect.
But I just use ziplip, it works just fine. For EVERYONE.
Later for now.
