macro and Bill L.--cholesterol question

Macro and Bill--

I was really interested in your debate on the value of nolvadex in helping to fight the reduction of "good" cholesterol while on a winstrol cycle. Macro, you mentioned that there were some other supps. that might serve the same purpose, and I was wondering if you could elaborate on what those are--and I'm curious to see if Bill agrees. All other input is of course welcome.

Thanks guys.

Yup Bill L says Nolva and Bill Roberts says clomid and likely Nolva too for keeping HDL up

We must note that 17aa oral have more affect on serum cholesterol and especially HDL dumps.

Other supplements include...

Niacin....clinically need at least 1000mg per day in divided doses. Don't use the older time released ones as they are hard on the liver. Niacin has a greater impact on HDL than any drug ...ask any cardiologist.

****Omega 3 and 6 oils...especially 3. 3 is found in Tuna, Salmon, sardines and especially fax. Grind up a couple table spoons of seed in a small coffee grinder and mix with lots of water a few times per day...or ...buy the oil at a health food store.

Avoid all saturated animal fat as they do nothing for you but keep you feeling full and elevate total cholesterol and decrease HDL.

***Avoid all trans fatty acids ie.Margerine(except Becel) all vegeatable oils shortenings and partially hydrogenated oils (read labels)

Don't use ANY oil for cooking except extra virgin olive oil as ALL other oils have been super heated and are full of trans fatty acids.
Never heat any oil above 275 degree or so as high heat will create trans fatty acids...so if you must fry then use an electric pan with a temp control.

Do aerobic exercise at least 30 mins three times per week as this elevates HDL.

Eat lots of Oatmeal as this does help.

Although cholesterol intake is not as important as avoiding saturated fat and trans fatty acids I would still limit total cholesterol that you eat. All meats have about the same per once. Eggs have a lot but only in the yolk. Eat a dozen eggs per day but only a couple yolks at most.

Don't get fat as this will raise total cholesterol and HDL.

Buy the book" Fats That Heal, Fats that Kill". It is the best out there and is written by a scientist and not a quack!

Estrogen Inhibitors(not blockers) will cause a sharp decline in HDL. This has been proven in at least one study, ask Bill L.

Bill Roberts 2 0n 4 0ff cycles have little negative affect on cholesterol and HDL. go to mesorx.com

We need a sticky on this as the Cholesterol /HDL issue is the worst side efect of roid use IMO...but when your 21 these things don't even cross ones mind:( :bawling: :D

realgains,

great, great info bro. Much appreciated. Quick question: does niacin tend to raise blood pressure? Thought I might have read that somewhere, but I might be totally off.

Thanks.

quaker Niacin does not raise BP. Oh...if you do do niacin at 1000mg or more be sure that you do it under an MD's supervision....re:liver stress. It is VERY unlikely that 1500mg or less per day will affect your liver values though. All of the examples of liver problems that I have read about have come from high doses of the older time released niacin (still available) at doses of 3000mg per day.:)

quaker, if you have high BP then you know of course to watch out for dietary sodium....man almost everything processed has sodium++.
The Clomid or Nolva during a cycle will really help cut down on the water retention and thus BP too.

Avoid orals, especially d-bol and A Bombs. Oral Primo and Proviron are okay as is anavar, although the var may drop your HDL.

great info guys, thanks. For Huck and Realgains--in regards to gugglesterones, that product has an effect on the thyroid, no? Would it be safe to use it conjunction with 25mcg of t3 over a 6 week period?

Much appreciated.

Do not forget Garlic which can lower total cholsterol up 12% and tritriglycerides up to 17% over a four week period.

Yes,it mildly stimulates endogenous Thyroxine(T-4) production,so that will provide a slight augmentory effect to the T-3.

Gugglesterones, such as found in Syntrax's 'gugglebolic, have been shown to have a positive effect on ldl/hdl readings.

I hate posts like this. I take a total of 29 DIFFERENT pills a day already, and now that I read this shit I'm gonna be taking 30. Thanks a lot.

How effective is Guggulbolic anyway, and what dosages do you recommend?

I recently read a website on arimidex and here's what it said:

Hepatic: Gamma GT increased; SGOT increased; SGPT increased
Mean serum total cholesterol levels increased by 0.5 mmol/L among patients
receiving ARIMIDEX.
Increases in LDL cholesterol have been shown to contribute to these changes.

So...will taking nolvadex offset the arimidex's affect on cholesterol?

Cujo

Thats a good question. I will ask the Bill's. The reason why clomid and Nolva work is because they act as estrogens in the liver, and thus improve HDL.:)

oh, as a side...Bill Roberts says that it is a myth that clomid and nolva reduce gains and that it was started years ago by Dan Duchaine.?
