Mac OS X on intel

no, Apple would rather have the money from selling the hardware.

Technically you can run the FreeBSD mod that is the core system - Darwin.

But it isn't the GUI that you are thinking of.

Apple makes its money off of hardware. They would lose money from iTunes if it weren't for sales of iPods.
Same goes for their hardware of laptops and desktops.

You would sooner see Apple sell licenses so other companies could produce Mac's again.

Man, this thread feels like Bizarro world, with Scrappy talking about Macs and stuff.

Yeah, it feels like I'm posting up about being gay or something - after long and loudly bashing gays.

That said, the OS keeps getting better as of 10.3 - if they ever go back to 9 or before, I will get pissed off and run Linux.
Outside of the work world I'm definitely done with Windows for awhile.

I hear there is beta version of OS X that runs on intel. Anybody know where I can get a copy. I just want to see Apple release OS x for intel to give Microsoft a run for there money.

There are UI tweaks that can map into XP to make it look like some of the OS X stuff. The Expose and the Dock.
Other than that, there is no OS X for Intel.

There is Darwin for Intel, but I already mentioned that. Darwin is the core of OS X, what you think of as "OS X" is just the eye candy and some of the apps.

The newest MS OS, right now it is code name "Longhorn" - that has a lot of similar technology as OS X in terms of graphics - it uses Open GL to render the screen and they use some vector graphics so that they scale well.

But can I run OSX on my IIe ?

This is really important because I don't want to have to upgrade my hardware.

I know there is a beta of OS X for intel. Sure Apple would lose money on hardware, but they would certainly make up the difference in software sales. So many people despise Microsoft. Apples stock will shoot through the roof!
