lyophilized powder igf. BW or BA?

Thom

New member
Hi I soon have some 100mcg vials with lyophilized powder long r3 igf-1.
I ordered them without any water, because I've got lots of BA and BW here.

The powder will be stored in a freezer, and in a cooler when it's mixed. I'm going to use 50mcg ed, so in a mixed state it will be stored in a cooler for max 48 hours.

What should I use to mix it with? BA or BW?

thanks
thom

Definitely BA - it's almost the same ph as the igf (from what I've read), which will allow for the least amount of degradation over time.

Although BW may work since you're only saving each vial for 2 days. Let's get some more opinions on this for you...

be very careful with that shit (igf-1) bro, you better know how to use it right because that shit can kill you easily.

I agree one should be careful when using this as they should be with any substance. I have however never read anything quite this drastic about it. It certainly has the potential for sides etc but what are you referring to jeb?

thanks guys. what I though. BA it is.

but jeb. what's that about bro? are you thinking of the risks of hypoglycemia (which is low), or what?
because I've never heard anything about igf being able to kill the user easily.

Nobody gets killed on IGF.
What you should do is to make a sterile saline phosphate buffer solution with a pH of 5-5.5 of 10-20 mM with 0.9% BA. Anything else destroys the IGF.

Wrong..
PBS is unnecessary since we're shooting such small volumes. Using a solvent that is equitonic just doesn't matter. The pH of 10mM HCL, the manufacturer's recommended reconstitution solvent for in vitro work, is much lower than 5.
BA is an excellent option for hydrophobicity/hydrophillicity reasons. To make a statement like "anything else will destroy IGF-1" is a bit naive IMO.

I have seen research papers on this issue and they played with the pH, concentration of the phosphate buffer, adding salt, BA and so on. They looked at the potency deterioration right after reconstitution and after a year and also at site irritation. The phosphate is not just for less injection pain, but also as a preservative.

OK, "anything else will destroy IGF-1" is a bit harsh, but was actually referring to people who want to keep it for a year in the fridge without a loss of potency. If you have 10 mg or something, that is enough for 200 days of straight use.

I have also seen a report that says that BA changes the ternary structure of IGF, meaning that it totally lost its potency and sinks like the titanic to the bottom of your vial. BA clings to a certain amino acid (forgot which one). Phosphate prevents this from happening.

Please post the study or a link to it. I have a study in pdf format (too big to attach) that shows BA + mannitol (120mM) being ideal...it also tells of BA being an excellent solvent due to hydrophobicity reasons, and it does re-establish proper tertiary structure from a lyophilized state and maintain it.

Additionally, all studies aside, most use IGF-1 in BA......many have kept it stored for 2-3 months before using it with no noticeably decreased effects

so i just ordred 2 50ml bottles of Ben. Alc. so just use this to mix my igf1 from gensci??????
yes
Gensci comfirmed it too..
one gensci vial is 100mcg.. so I'll mix it with 100iu BA, and use 50iu (50mcg igf) ed. My unmixed vials will be stored in a freezer.
