I was talking to a friend who wants to go to LSU but says he has to stay in the dorms his freshman year before he can get an apartment. Anyone know if it's possible to get an apartment the first year of college at LSU?

I KNOW MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WHO GO TO LSU WITHOUT STAYING IN THE DORM. I WAS GOING TO TRANSFER THERE BUT I'M TOO CLOSE TO GRAD'N.

I know they don't have to stay in the dorms, but is it possible to get an apartment your freshman year?

YES.....JUST ABOUT EVERYONE I KNOW HAD AN APT THEIR FRESHMAN YEAR.

im goin to LSU. stayin in Kirby Smith.... which really sucks. although it is actually a state law that freshman have to stay in dorms, it is not followed at LSU, there are just too many peeps. staying in a dorm is not mandatory at LSU. repeat, you DO NOT have to stay there.

he can also find an apartment REAL easily. there is a shit load of them off college dr. in baton rouge

hopefully i will see him there. where is your friend from anyways? im roomin with some guy from texas.

Actually it's a group of friends, they all from Laffayette in Louisiana. About 4 of them are pooling their money togeather for an apartment

they are planning on making it mandatory for ALL freshman too stay in the dorms their first year at LSU. i dont know when this is supposed to go into effect, i think they have to build some more dorms first. they are doing it to promote a sense of community between students, teachers and what not. if you are not classified as a freshman i dont think you have to stay in the dorms if you transfer to LSU. a girl i used to date that goes to LSU told me about this a few months back.

IF THAT IS THE CASE, THE REASON ISNT FOR A SENSE OF COMMUNITY. ITS FOR MONETARY REASONS ONLY. THEY CAN CHARGE YOU MUCH MORE PER SEMESTER.

I'll bet a lot of tax and tuition-paying parents have complained that little Johnny and Susie are out partying and getting their brains fucked out too much and coming home with poor grades and this is the administration's attempt to curb it.

LMAO...YEAH, THAT IS DEFINITELY GOING TO HELP OUT INCOMING FRESHMAN.

Yeah, I just finished my freshman year and lived in an apartment the entire time. In a way its almost better to live in the dorms your first year, as long as you get into a nice one.
