LSAT Question

SV2

New member
I scored a 165 on the LSAT this past Feb, without studying much. I guess you can say I studied indirectly because I studied for and took the GMAT (650) back in December-02. Will a 166 get you into a decent law program? I got into my first choice MBA program, and it's probably too late to apply to law school this fall, but it may be worth asking for a deferal, and applying to law school... any ideas?

Im going back part time, (working full time) so unless I got into an ivy, then I'd quit and go to school full time (which is not going to happen) no way can I do a joint program :(

165 is a good score.

Law school competition has been extremely tight; because of the bad economy, a lot of people are going to law schools. I know a girl who got a 163, and did NOT get into the U of FL law school, even though she is a FL resident who graduated from UVA.

Depending on other credentials you have a pretty good shot at better law schools, though Ivies are probably out.

So it is hard to say where a 165 takes you. if you are serious, study some and try to up your score. LSAT averages the scores, soif you get a 175 for example, you'd show a 170, which gives you more options.

MBA and law is a lot of school. Sure it's the best use of your time?

165 is a very good score and it shoudl get you into some very schools like boston u, boston college and fordham. It MAY get you into georgetown type schools also. However, law is not all what it is made out to be. If you go to a top school and finish top of your class you CAN start out at about 140,000 a year with nice bonuses. However you will work until midnight during the week and most weekends. The per hour rate is not that great if you do the math. It all depends on what you are looking to do with your life.
