Im in love with this car...They dont sell it here in the US, how hard would it be for me to get one over here and actually be able to use it?

It looks great from the outside but sit in it your butt feels like it's touching the ground. Also it's not meant to drive on city streets one pothole or too high of curb and it's toast. :(

`if remember correctly they dont have the performance to back up their looks, a guy i workout with has a Lotus Espirit, my fav exotiic car is the one and only Ferrari F50

While the price of it isnt high as you think, you may say this is an awesome deal... you will definately get noticed in this stunning car, but look at the HP and shit! Only 122HP @5500 RPM's, and a top speed of only 124.3 mph. The 0-60 time is good however, at 5.6 seconds.

And now, just for the hell of it, my fav. car... The Ferrari F50. The chassis of the F50 is made entirely of Cytec Aerospace carbonfibre. It weighs 225 lb., with a torsional rigidity of 25,677 lb. ft./°. As demanded by the design principles of a Formula 1 car, the chassis forms the central part, where the driver sits. Like a racing car, the fuel tank, which is made of a rubber compound, aeronautical fashion, is positioned in a protected place behind the driver, in front of the engine and rear axle assembly. The result is in advanced driving position, with the weight divided 42% and 58% between the front and rear axles. This influenced the design of the windscreen which is very advanced and therefore only marginally curved It produces 520 HP @ 8500 RPM's. Top speed is 202 mph and 0-60 is 3.7 seconds.

Lotus is big on small cubes with turbos etc, they are sports cars not super cars. I have a video clip of a german track (11 miles I think) of one versus a C5.

I am confused. I used to work at a dealership that sold Lotus cars, and they did have the elise....I drove a few of them.

when I was in London a few years ago they were everywhere it seemed. so I would assume they are okay on city streets... unless there is another model that looks just like that.
my friend that was studying there at the time liked them and told me that they are coming to the states soon and he wants to get one.

def cool looking.

TNH: the Elise you're thinking of stopped production inm 1992 and cost like $27K. It wasn't all that impressive with that tiny 1.6L Isuzu engine and the totally plastic interior.

This Elise which was SUPER hot, especially in England runs about $15,000-$20,000 overseas. You can get one pretty much street legal with a Honda engine (the car is titled as a Honda) for between $30-$40K.

I was gonna buy one at the local dealership but realized when I sat in it that it was nothing more than a Go-cart club racer. It has an HP-Weight ratio that will clobber anything and it can outhandle anything made. And yes, it looks unreal but it is unbelievably impractical.

I was just wondering to myself who would ever drive nice sports cars around town here in Boston. then on the way to work today I paassed one of the new Ferraris (360 Modena).
bastard.
I can't imagine the insurance on that, not to mention how the hell he deals with potholes.

The Modena is sweet! Not too expensive for a Ferrari but my major gripe is that it has its shifters attached to the column unlike the BMW shifter paddles which are attached to the wheel- much smarter. I will have a Lotus Exige! I love that car. I want a Audi S4 and a Scooby WRX STi as well!! I better get rich eh? hehe.

yeah, the shifter on the column is a pain in the ass on turns. well, so I've read - not like I've ever driven one - lol.
the new Saab 9-3 sport coupe also has a steering wheel mounted tiptronic like system.

Guy I know has had his on the track, haven't heard any complaints  I didn't know it was on the column though, I would imagine it would not be that bad to deal with, wonder about the F-60 setup.

Is that a Vector? I saw an old grey haired dude driving a Vector M12 in Tampa once- he was driving really slow. No wonder considering what the thing is worth.

It says its a Vector yes, otherwise I would have assumed it a Fiero kit car, since its obviously not a Countach :)

Supposedly they are like driving washing machines, the Diablo is alot more driver friendly.
