Losing Bodyfat % first before bulking cycle OR?????????????????????

Body fat 18-20% I think



I have been lifting naturally for about two years but never really cut up. I going to start a bulking cycle in about a month and wondering if keeping this body fat will help me or should I lose some of the bodyfat first.I was going to bulk during winter months then worry about cutting up in the spring.Any advice would be great!!:confused::confused:
 
please lose the extra BF before bulking!

so many guys at my gym don't do this and they end up looking like cows at the end of their cycles (and of course bragging about how they now weigh 260).

If you start a bulking cycle at a low BF you have enough leeway that you can afford to stay in calorie surplus the whole cycle (which I think is real important with most steroids). Yes you will add fat, but going from 8% to 12% is alot better than going from 20% to 24%.
 
Even if you go from 20% to 24% bodyfat you can cut down later on but it will take a little bit longer.Who has done this.Need your guys input.!!Thanx!:mix:
 
im in the same situation as you bro except ive done a couple of cycles ,
cut first , then bulk then cut at the end of the cycle this is the best way to keep gains , and gain more lbm
 
I started at 212 and about 19%, webt up to 224 and 22%bf. I thought I looked great at the time, looked good in t-shirts, but after switching to a heavy cutting cycle and a fairly strict diet, I am now at 196lbs and about 15.5%bf, and still going down. Sure I weigh less and am not nearly as strong, but I look much better and much more muscular.

Although I started at a high bf and brought it down, I think I will continue to try bringing my bf down before the next bulking cycle. It's not that it can't be done, but I think I will look better after a bulking cycle that I start from 10-12%bf, rather that 18-20.
 
What's too high to bulk? Where do you draw the line?

I'm starting a bulking cycle soon and I'd like to know how low you should get it first?

Is 12% too high???
 
I usually go by my waist size. With my body type I know my ideal waist size is 32 or under however once I pass 36 inches I assume its time to stop bulking. I hate fucking around with all these special b/f calipers and electronic devices.
 
You can Bulk without putting on large amounts of Bodyfat. It will go up a little but as long as your eating clean foods you should be fine. After years of doing the yoyo thing I have decided to keep myself as lean as possible and still add muscle during the winter. It really comes down to how you want to look. I don't think cutting up a little before you bulk is going to hurt your cycle any. It might cut into your strength a little however.
 
Im in the same boat right now. Im at 17%bf and I want to bulk over the winter like I usally do but with this bf being so high this year (as a result from an injury over the summer) I think im going to do a quick cutting cycle try to get to 13% or so then hit up a couple of nice bulking cycles this winter followed up by a couple nice cutting cycles this spring.:rolleyes:
