Lorazebam (1mg) vs Ambien (10mg)

My doctor recently prescribed me Lorazebam (1mg) after having gained a tolerance to Ambien (10mg). If you remember my past ambien thread you will know that i tripped balls my first time taking it (during a research paper too). Anyway, i'm not in the mood for any more "pleasant surprises", so can anyone contrast Lorazebam with Ambien? Also, is Lorazepam similar to xanax? Thanks in advance to those who reply.

Hey,
its LorazePam, also known as Ativan. It's a muscle relaxant/anti-anxiety pill. If you are having your wisdom teeth pulled, they give you a prescription for one pill, they fudge you up fairly hard. You are very groggy, at least I was (a 2mg pill, and I'm 250 lbs). Of course lots of nitrous oxide helped too. I think they'd make it so you couldnt use machinery, but I may be wrong. Anyone else tried them? Results?
