Well I just brought home the Camaro. It has 2 blue fuel pumps, a 12 point cage, aluminum radiator, all Auto Meter gauges, M/T 10.5"W" slicks, Weld Drag Lites, Sub Frame connectors, 4 link suspension, Moser Axles, GM 12 bolt posi with Auburn mini spooled diff. 4.88 richmond gears. 5 Gal. Harwood fuel Cell, Alum. Battery box in the trunk and a 6 inch fiberglass cowl hood. I will be setting my 427 in there tommorow night and then rebuilding my tranny. The cars last pass was 5.30 at 132 mph
With my motor it should go into the mid to high 6's in the 1/8

I am sure it will be a 10 second car when I am done. The dude also gave me 2 extra coil over shocks to dial in the rear end for diffrent tracks and a TCI Trans cooler. Plus he is going to do all the wiring while I am at the office!!! I will post pics ASAP

yeah... it is set up for the Outlaw class. It has to be tagged with a stock front end and must run under 10.5 in the 1/4 mile
 
You are getting WAY serious about this shit, bro. That puppy sounds outstanding. What year is the camaro. I've had a 67 small block, '68 small block, 69 427 and a 70 1/2 small. The '69 with the rat motor was my favorite. None were a tricked as the ride you brought home. Good luck.

What kind of tranny you going for? With that car and a built engine 10's are easy for the taking! Damn I need that rear end you have! You going to stay N/A or add a nice little shot of juice in there and try for the 9's? :)

I've had a 67, 78 and currently 89. Raced the 67, but the damn thing was heavy as hell.


Do you have glass fenders on that thing?

It is almost 12:30 AM EST....

I just got the 427 on the body of the 71 RS... I also found out that my block is a very desirable 427 block out of a COPO 68 Vette... this makes me want to sell the block and buy a 502 to put in the car!!!
Anyhow.. I got under the Camaro and found out that it has all Comp Enginering shocks, coil-overs and sub-frame connectors. Britt (the guy who owned it before me is going to help me dial in the 4-link suspension and run the fuel pumps. Thhere is one Barry Grant red under the car now and he is giving me a BG blue pump... I am not sure what the diffrence due to the fact I always use either Holley or Mallory.

He also offered to trade me a Holley 830 double pumper for my 750.... I am not sure about this. I found out that the converter in my old car (the Nova) was in fact an 8 inch.. not a nine inch... that explains why the tranny ran so hot while I was driving it on the street. Britt told me to expect high 6's out of this car in the 1/8th or low 10's in the 1/4 .....

I am soooo fucking excited I cannot even type!!

4.88'S!!! DAMN THATS HIGH. A FRIEND OF MINE WAS RUNNING SOMETHING NEAR THAT AND THEN PUT IN 4.11'S. HIS E.T. DROPPED A DECENT AMOUNT. TURNS OUT HIS GEARS WERE TAKING TOO MUCH FROM THE TOP END. HE DIDNT QUITE HAVE THE MONSTER YOU HAVE THOUGH.

KAYNE, Most of the work was done... but I got some stuff to do. I think I am gonna put new rings in the motor and run a fogger kit. I want to go fast.. the car has 4 link suspension.. so I know it will go straight. Britt had it in the nid 5's on 10 inch slicks... for those who don't know... that is FAST...
Stock Mustangs run high 9's... if that is a fair comparison.

Conan... I will have fun. If you got time.. look for a place in Pittsburgh called Beto's Pizza... you will love that shit!!!
