Just wondering... I am thinking about picking up a couple of books to read, if you have read them, tell me what you thought of them:

Mind Hunter - John Douglass

Interesting read.

Last year I took a couple days to group read a handful of crime literature; No heroes (swat), mind hunter (profiling), rainbow six (fiction), a (fbi) field stories related one / john douglas (fbi admissions), and a couple others .. Mind Hunter was pretty balanced between true stories of known serial cases and some profiling technicalities. Nothing to comprehensive in either category but gave me a nice overview of how fbi profiling was founded and how he solved some of the big crimes of the past few decades. There are better non-fiction books regarding how to profile crimes, and more in depth first person accounts of serial killer activity but the book was very well rounded so it felt like a complete read. I'm not going to write a entire review for you so just ask specifics if you want them.

Correction, it was not regarding swat but the 'FBI's secret HRT'.

I really hate books written in first person, so I dropped it after the first couple chapters and just skimmed the rest. Omniscient or non-fiction documentaries are multiple times better for story telling or fact presenting. If you are looking for first person accounts it would be ok. No in depth facts just his opinions and emotions etc .. of various situations.
