Clomid is only a selective estrogen receptor modulator(SERM).It does nothing to stop or slow the production in the body.Rather,it blocks off certain Estrogen Receptors(E/Rs)and deactivates them. The trouble is,because the catalyzing enzyme for estrogen production has been left unchecked, once you come off the clomid, all that circulating estrogen is now free to re-bind to the sites that were inactivated by bound clomiphene, which has now detached itself from the E/R.This is where anastrozole/liquidex shines. It targets the catalystic enzyme-Aromitase,and down regulates it's population/creation in the testes, which in turn prevents the androgens in your system from being bound to and structurally altered into estrogen. The two together provide a nice 1-2 whallop of estradiol control.
