Life after H.S.

SS's thread made me think of some funny times.

I was a total geek in h.s. I played sports and was actually good. But at 6' and prob 130lbs soaking wet with glasses and braces I was an easy target for the "jock crowd".

So it's been a loooong time since H.S., I've put on some weight (in a good way), I'm 6'2 210and turned out to be an average lookin guy.

#1 A few months ago I was out with some friends just havin a beer. This guy comes up to me and asks my name, I tell him, he flips out! OMG! We went to HS together! HOLY SH*T! Seriously I thought this guy was having some type of involuntary episode right in front of me. Anyway, he says his name cuz I didn't remember him. Turns out he used to bully me around. When he said his name, I said "Oh yea, I remember you, you used to pick on me. Wanna try now?" :)

#2 A girl I used to be completely gaga over came up to me and asked me out. I told her to let me think about it and I would let her know. The same thing she told me when I asked her out some 16 years ago and never heard from her :)

Life isn't too bad :)
Any good stories, anyone? Anyone?

meh...

i continued my rockstar ness from H.S. for a year in college. Partying and wimminz continued and so did the money for awhile. Joined the badass fraternity which actually ended up me getting kicked out of school. it wasnt even for academic reasons.
My ebay business failed around the same because i spent too much money and couldnt really operate fully out of a dorm room

said fuck it and moved to miami beach where my parents had a vacation condo. went to school down here for almost 2 years and worked as a waiter then personal trainer. very different but i did my thing. i was a nobody here in the playground of the rich and famous. just a kid

Met my ex...she moved down to be with me. She had a bunch of medical, financial and all sorts of other probs. Ended up dropping out of school to work to help her.
Found the mortgage industry which i already internship experience in Manhattan from. Worked my balls off to help serve her problems..
became top producer at my company, got promoted to a sales manager at 22.

Got approached by a pretty big bank to completely run an office for them and be the VP of their florida operation at 23. Got it off the ground..made 10-12k a month for awhile even after coming out of pocket for expenses.
Had the dream life at 23...own office/branch, luxury car, model girlfriend, oceanfront condo. balling out in south beach

and then had a big fall out with my partner and ownership.

went independent and was still making coin...then the subprime mortgage market crashed and eradicated 95% of my business and found out my gf was cheating on me and using me for months

here i am now
to be continued..

ooh you wanted funny stories :(

my bad. hrmm. i just remember being on my grind and/or partying my balls off. just replayed the last 8 years in my head. figured it may motivate me to get back to the top

I went to 3 different high schools. I don't think much about it now. I didn't have any really bad experiences in school and was a good gal. So, nothing exciting or new since then .

I'm so old that thinking back to high school is like thinking back to evaluate my development in the womb. lol

I just made an alumni group for my old high school. It closed in 1988 so it's been hard to find people. We're over 50 people in the first 4 weeks with another 100 invites pending. People are recalling some hilarious stuff.

I ran into my old friends via Facebook and we had a mini reunion at the local diner. A few months later, some of us met again. One of the people was bitching that the entire group didn't come out. My and my friend, S, just laughed at her. She asked me why. So, I told her:

"Red, for the past 15 years, the only person that I've seen on a consistent basis was S. He's the only one that I'm expecting to see for the next 15. He met my wife, my kids, and was at my wedding. The rest of you are just gravy who can come and go as you please."

"E, but we'll be friends forever!"

"Red, we'll see. But (with all due respect) the only thing that the past 15 years taught me is that S is the only person (outside of family) that I can count on."

I had a bad high school experience.

So I dont think about it too much.

I only talk to one friend from HS. i'd burn the place down if I could.

I keep in touch with a few close friends from high school. Just had lunch with one yesterday in fact. Most of the friends I'm in consistent contact with tho are from my freshman year of college. we lived in one of the smaller residence halls and bonded in a weird way. We had a mini-reunion in DC back in February, I saw another one of them about a month ago, and we've all converged on Facebook.

everytime i see someone from highschool, i say to myself "man, if i woke up tomorrow and was like them, the first thing id do would be to fucking kill myself!!"

the only stories i have in your vein are the ones where the previous school hottie would be nearby trying to play her usual game (where guys kiss up to them) and not only do i ignore them (without meaning to) but end up flirting with their little sisters lol
