should i mix my lidocaine with my ip injection or shoot it before. will it work IM? how much to use? i have the 4% stuff. thanks

You can do it either way, with it or after. I would do it with it since lidocaine is fast acting. 4% is pretty strong, you should be able to use just 1/2 cc and do just fine.

What are you using lidocaine for....local anesthesia? So you are using one injection to decrease the pain for another injection?

I think he doesn't mean the pain from the INJECTION, he means the pain from the IM BA AFTER the injection.

ok.....but lidocaine only works for a little while, so the pain after the injection must be of short duration as well and must be REALLY painful.

You guys should know that lidocaine is also used to treat irregular heart rhythms......partly because it causes an irregular rhythm itself. BE VERY CAREFUL....you could die instantly if you hit a vessel, especially with 4% lidocaine. It isnt common cuz the liver catches it before it goes to the heart, but why risk it????

i feel for you bro but next time stay away from the **'s injections if they hurt that much. no reason to use lidocaine, unless you anesthetize the nerve, i don't see what good it is for you. is it lido w/epi????? or not with epi??? be careful
