Lets talk cable descramblers

I have a Ranger 9000 Platinum model. My only complaint is that it doesn’t pick up all the stations. It picks up many, but I am missing several of them (history, TLC, FX, fox news, etc). Is there a better model? Has anyone tried the Clearmax 6000?

What kind do you use, what was the cost, and is it capable of picking up a lot of stations?

Can you steal cable with those things without having to climb up a utility pole?
I'm willing to do almost anything to steal cable except climb up the freakin pole in the alley behind my apartment.

Does that box work for digital cable?

And did you have to climb a pole??

As of recently they hadn't made a digital cable descrambler. I have been hearing that something is coming down the river though.

ARE YOU AWARE THAT YOU ARE BREAKING THE LAW? OF COURSE YOU ARE. NO WONDER WHY YOU AND I GET ALONG NOW.

Class A misdemeanor, and it is relatively undetectable. Fuck, stealing cable is only one legal degree more serious than jaywalking.

Where would one be able to purchase one of these? :)

Ask my old neighbor about that. $5,000.00 fine plus court costs and suspension of services until the fine is paid off. Maybe California is different than the rest of the free world - call your local cable company from a payphone and ask them what the fines are and what the reward is. Most places offer you several months free service or unlimited PPV events if you provide information on someone that is stealing cable. The fine also depends on how long it has been going on, how long the person has lived there, how many lines they have going etc. There is a way to monitor what signals are being sent and received by the box and which are being bounced back to them.

They showed up with three police officers, a search warrant and treated the situation as criminal theft. Compound that with the fact that he was also providing cable to two other people and he could have gotten a lot more than a 5 grand fine. Who would have ever though stealing cable would be such a huge and profitable business?

If you are going to steal cable then at least do some research first. Anyone can tell you that the signal can't be read, all the urban legends and myths ...... it's your ass on the line so you might as well do some research on the subject and know what you are getting in to.

descramblers are on ebay.

I've read the criminal code, and it says class A misdemeanor. not only that, but 13 million americans steal cable. Last time i checked they didn't all have their doors kicked down. Usually the only way to get caught is to have someone snitch on you, since no one here on EF knows enough about me then that probably won't happen.

Even Yenko, who is an EF memeber and who catches cable theives told me that he has never caught anyone with a descrambler. He said you have to split the wires to get caught.
