Let's talk about women and cats.

OK, I am going to generalize for the sake of simplicity. I do realize there are many exceptions. With that said-

Why do men dislike cats so much yet most women love them? Why are men so wary of a woman that loves cats and what does that tell us about her?

Why do so many women not mind putting up with the snotty, don't-give-a-shit, stuck up, "scoop my shit, feed me, and fuck off" attitude of cats, while men want to boot them across the room? Why do they not mind being the cat's "staff"?

Why?

I'm not a fan of cats. They have bad manners (climbing on the countertops etc). Plus I'm really allergic to them. I grew up with outdoor barn cats. I think they're happier outside hunting. Anyhow, I much prefer dogs. They're so excited to see you every time you walk in.

I have a soft spot for my ferrets though-- mostly because I appreciate how clever they are.

MY WIFE has 3 cats. I have no clue why women like cats, I don't not like them per se, it is just that I wouldn't choose one as my pet.

I can't stand most cats. Plus I found out the hard way that their tongues feel like sandpaper. I also found out they're not as enthusiastic about peanut butter as dogs are.

Oh god!

I do not like Cats at all!!

I am a dog person all the way... dogs are family-- cats are pets.

I hear ya. But that's probably why you like to hang out on this board and get along with all the guys on here.:D

Yes, dogs are always excited to see you. Cats act as if they're giving you the privilege of letting you pet them. Some people say that's what's so great about a cat- that you have to earn it's friendship. Well, if I'm feeding it, taking it to the vet, grooming it, and all that, I would say that I have damn well earned it. Besides, a cat will act like your best friend one minute and then bite and claw the hell out of you the next.

agree. I'm not a big fan too of dogs. I prefer fish, ferrets, chins, lizards...... exotic pets.

Personally I'm a bit wary of ANYONE that thinks it's OK to allow an animal to Shit inside the house...

I've got 3 cats now, and 2 of them are as friendly as any cat I've ever been around. They run up to see me when I come home, and follow me around the house for attention.

They were all strays, and the 3rd has never gotten past feral. But we have an arrangement: I feed him, and he poops in the box.

I also had a dog for 14 years, and the only reason I haven't gotten another pup is because I'm not home enough to take care of one.

Dogs and cats just behave differently, but I think they're both fun to have around.
