I do give the chick credit for eventually getting back w/you and eventually letting you know. If things hadn't gone good with her old boyfreind last 2 weeks, she would have been kissing your ass. This is probably why she waited 2 weeks. She didn't want to cut the cord too soon.

props to that girl for being about as honest as you can expect someneone to be with you in that situation. i have a hard time believing there are mid 20s single people who don't check their email for two weeks. but once she got past the initial fluff, she at least gave you an honest explanation. i'd email her back and let her know that it may be six months to a year before you can think about falling in love again, but you at least have hope.

I totally understand. I've been in the same situation myself. Chalk
it up to bad timing. I know I have not gotten to know some great
people as well as I would have wanted because of bad timing and I too
am not good at really getting to know someone on that level when there
are others in the picture.
