Leaving your cable box on...

Is it good to leave a black cable box on at all times. Obviously when youre not home you would shut the TV off, but is it better to leave your box on, even when youre not at home? I heard that it's good to do that so you can get the PPV stations real well.

i'm sure a lot of them are different, but from my experience it doesn't matter. i've had mine for 4 years and haven't shut it off once

no it is not a good idea, generally if they are doing neighborhood line testing its gunna be early in the morning or later in the evening *near primetime television watching* so if u leave it on all the time instead of the times u actually use it then they have a higher rate of them picking up the elevated voltage produced on your line.

this was how it was explain to me by a friend who worked for Time Warner.
