I wouldn't take more than 100 grams a day of whey unless I was training super hard AND bulking and just couldn't fit in more food and had to take additional protein.
If you are bulking or just eating to gain and can tolerate it, milk is superior for a protein source than whey for pretty much any thing, but post-workout.
Technically whey's BVA or whatever you call it is higher, but it doesn't factor in the slow release nature of milk protein which is better over the course of the day than chugging 4 shakes of whey.
In the end, protein is flippin protein. Eat enough of it and you'll grow.

Because of that 125grams of whey protein your body probably digested 50 grams of it if you are in hard training and you shit out the other 75 grams. Whey absorbs fast and goes through the system fast which is why it is the prefered post-workout protein.
Casein's molecular structure is slow release in nature and your body tends to absorb most of it. If you drank 100 grams worth of protein from milk in 1 shot(and yes that is a cubic assload) you'd likely absorb 90% of it because your body will absorb it over several hours and I believe peaks it's absorption at the 3-4 hour mark, but is absorbed the whoel tiem over the course of 6-8 hours if I am not mistaken.
That is why it's kinda a waste to chug down that much whey in 1 shot, let alone multiple times through the day.
If you really need that extra protein and cannot afford to eat it through food then you'd be better off chugging down 3-5 shakes during the day at 20-30grams protein each in addition to your meals.
