my damn fiance and her friend were cackeling so I couldn't hear what the guy who was shot said? Was that not the Sawyer character? If not, who or why was he given that guys info?

There was this guy, that someone needed dead. However, they knew Sawyer was not a killer. So they fed him the wrong info, making him believe it was the guy he had been searching all his life for. After Sawyer shot him, the guy gasped that he was going to pay them... meaning he owed money to the people that told Sawyer he was the man he was after. Sawyer realized that they had duped him and manipulated his hate for someone unknown to their benefit.
