Laser Eye Surgery

I did it in Montreal Canada. Best thing I ever did, easy fast and I have perfect eye sight.

I was basically blind went there and could see in less than 24 hours.

Besides picking up a weight it was the best thing I have done for myslelf

I'd love to get it done, but i've heard of so many stories where there was something that went wrong...a co worker of mine had it done about 4 years ago. She woke up the next morning and couldn't see anything clear, she said it was worse than before w/o her glasses, she went back to the doctor only to find out that his assistant didn't close her eye right, and the flap of skin/eye was open and stuck to the top part of her eye!

I was going to do it but my lenses were too thin to shave...theres a newer procedeure Im looking at

Can you tell me what your eyesight was before the surgery? I had mine done and my eyes were really bad. They are not perfect now and I still wear glasses but they're very thing glasses. I don't know the terminology for the eyesight but mine were -16 and now they're -4, so they DID improve dramatically.

Shadow, you posted about that other procedure before and I'm very interested in getting mine fixed again. Please keep us updated on how it's going. I would love to ditch the glasses forever! I tried going back for another procedure but they said I ccould no longer do it. I'm guessing my eyes were "too thin" to do it again as well. This new procedure may be what I need.

I still say to go for it. I would definately do it again. I used to wear contacts but glasses were really like Coke bottles if I had worn them.

Havent had it done.....I wanted to wait a year

IntraLasik...

http://www.willvision.com/Html/what_is_lasik.htm

No blades used for cutting the flap and it also tracks any tiny eye movements
as it lases..

Uses a laser for the flappage....

I would go this route and the failure rates are going way down each advance in laser technology...

You wanna get scared?
Look into how many people DIE from post operative infections in the us..
It's like a hundred thousand(100,000 maybe) each year I think.

How well does LASEK hold up if you work out heavy? Doesn't LASEK make your lenses weaker? Who here has blown out an eye deadlifting or squating? I'd hate to get the surgery done, squat heavy, and go blind. Maybe that isn't a real concern, but I'm not sure.

$3750.

best money i ever spent. don't go for the cheapest -- they're the cheapest, cuz they use the oldest machines. They don't tell you that.

research research research. don't be afraid of free consultations. the end result is worth it when u do it.

I did it at TLC and it was the best 5k that I've ever spent. Even better then that time in Vegas.

I did mine at TLC. Is yours the "lifetime" one? You can go back for life as needed for more procedures as you age and stuff. I went back after a few months or a year and they said "No good, your eyes can't be operated on anymore" lol wtf?

I'm not a candidate for it yet (too young) but may consider it in the future. Right now, I don't mind wearing contacts but it would be nice to just be able to see properly.

WTF? So much for lifestime.

I should of kept operating on mine until I had XRay vision. That would of been the best.

My friend had it done, that woman was blind as a bat, she sees awesome now
I went with her to the drs office afterwards once, and they said she was doing great.
She still is now
Im not sure which one she had

Lasik is awesome. I'm going in for blasteroaphy? (sp?) next month to remove some horrible saggy eyelids brought on by years of wearing incorrect prescription glasses and squinting. Apparently it'll make me look 5 years younger and much fresher once again. I can't wait. But it's a very sensitive surgery in terms of esthetics of end result, so just hopin' for the best.
