No joke, the time you spend in that position with the anus relaxed allows for the veins in that area to engorge with blood. The veins have valves in them and if the vein is distended to long the valves b/c incompetent leading to swelling, once one valve fails, the swelling causes a chain reaction of other valves becoming incompetent. Thus, you get hemmorhoids and the associated annoyances.
