l-tyrosine vs altyr

stuffperson

New member
I have read that l-tyrosine is more bioavailable, but has to compete for uptake with other amino acids, while altyr does not have to compete.

Does that sound right to others? I keep finding conflicting info about both.

also, will tyrosine support thyroid output while in caloric deficit?

altyr:
1) more bioavailable
2) faster crossing of blood-brain barrier, and more efficient

go with altyr...same with alcar :o

What do you take L-Tyrosine for ?

l-tyrosine, I believe it can be converted to dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain, though just by it alone i have never felt a buzz or anything. Also supposed to be good for those who are "burned out" on thermo's (not responding to them as well anymore). I think I had seen someone say tyrosine was a building block to thyroid hormones, just wondering if it is as good for supporting thyroid output as something like the e&z guggelsterones are supposed to be.
