Kindle Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi plus 3G?

I don't understand the difference. There is one that is just wi-fi for $139. Then there is one that is 3G plus wi-fi for $189. I don't understand the difference. Can anyone explain the difference in layman terms? Thks.

wifi = only gets online when you are near wifi networks


wifi + 3G = gets online where ever you have cell phone service. pretty sure you have to pay for a data plan with the 3G version but I am unsure.

I have an iPad 3G, but later I realized that I have alot of Starbucks around me. Free WiFi is everywhere around me.
