Killed a microdrive aka flash card???

I have some 1 GB microdrives for serious photography. I did a format procedure on one of them, mistakenly thinking this would be the same as deleting all the photos.

Now the camera does not work with it. Oops.

Someone know how to fix this?

also, check your camera's manual it should tell you how to have it format the card properly

Thats a technical explanation of how data is stored but I don't think it will help with this problem.

The microdrive was made by Iomega and they quit making them. Actually....I think IBM made it.

Iomega has no downloadable updates and info for this microdrive.

So IBM sold the microdrive business to Hitachi. I downloaded some drivers onto the microdrive that looked like they might work.

So the microdrive is working again for time being. Somehow the computer format procedure seems to have damaged a cluster on the microdrive..................4 KB..........that cannot be formatted.


Microdrives are very delicate. They are tiny hard drives. They break if you drop them on a hard floor.
