keys to lower leg development

Most people don't relize that the lower leg is made up of more then just the calves

1 Gastrocnemius
is the superficial muscle that people point to on the lower leg and call a "calf" it attaches to the heal and just above the back side of the knee great for standing and donkey raises

2 Soleus
is the muscle that is just beneath the gasto closer to the bone it attaches to the heal and BELOW the knee .The best way to isolate that is to do seated raises becuase it take most the superfiscial gastro out of the picture and focuses on the soleus

3 Tibialis
runs up the front of the leg and raises foot into the air
only way to target them is the reverse raises

4 The peroneus longis
runs up the out side side of the leg between the front and back
lots of soccer player have it developed from sweeping in the foot and kicking the ball sideways to pass on the feild next to them using the inside of the foot
Could be worked pretty eazy by having wieghted cable attached to your ankle on the out side then you curl your foot in and under

you really gotta throw in the seated and reverses to get well developed lower legs and add to over all lower leg girth.

Just my 2 cents
