Just watched Van Helsing.

Cool flick!A little drawn out and lengthy IMO,but still a lot of fun overall.The werewolves looked bad ass.
now all the wanntabe critics will come in and say" dood ,werewolves arent real...and i knew that ...duh....sub-par by my standards...i dont even think vampires are real to tell you the truth...and frankenstien ?..PA-LEAS ...he lacked a certain carisma i like to see in my undead pieced together man monsters"....

I liked Underworld better,but still thought VH was fun.I do agree with yomamma in that it did feel a little drawn out,like maybe they could have omitted a few stagnant scenes and shortened its length somewhat.I still liked it though,as Hugh J and Kate B are good actors that I'm a fan of,and of course I'm biased toward the monster genre.

i don't think it was meant to be scary. not even the slightest bit. unless you happen to be 5 years of age.
i enjoyed it primarily because it was visually very impressive. before seeing it, i had dismissed it because the idea is ridiculous...combining all these monsters, etc...
and that is true. but i assume it's intentionally so. i'll enjoy something that looks good, even if the rest is lacking. and i get into stories very easily, almost immediately. this kind of story is one that i like, even though they didn't have enough of it for my taste, but still enough to get pulled in (for me, that is).
just non-stop (almost literally) action with a score that does nicely for the swashbuckling/adventurous style. and fun.
but it could go either way, depending on what you want and expect from it.
