Hi,

I recently went to the doctor because I am constantly tired. It's been this way for a few years now. I'm only 38! Anyways the doctor set me up for a sleep atudy and took some blood. Last week I got the results and my test level was 320. So I asked if there was anything we could do about it and the doctor prescribed me Androgel (He also mentioned I could do one test shot a month instead.). I went to go get it filled and it was $400 because my insurance doesnt cover it! So my doctor prescribed me adroderm instead which I just started. One 2.5mg patch a day. I'm interested in what peoples opinions and experiences are with androderm?

Lets see, after reading some info on the patch, it states that the oval patch can deliver 5mgs of Test in a 24 hour period. Correct me if I am wrong please. Will your body be one of those that can absorp very good or will it not even make a dent? I'll give you my opinion just to help you see some options, As it looks, for your 320 range, your going to need more than 5 mgs aday of Test. HRT standards are in about 100- 125 mgs a week . $400 is alot of money for those patches when all you can get is a better option of topicals if you want or get scripted for like androgel cause it does work for many. For me and many others, injections are the way to go, as it is immediate, goes through your bloodstream bypassing having to go through the stages of absorption through the skin like the patch, creams, also cause the injection vials are much cheaper than $ 400. Here is a link to the patch info which can be very helpful. http://pi.watson.com/data_stream.asp?product_group=1200&p=ppi&language=E

The doctor told me I could come in once a month for a injection. From what I have read, it should be done once a week. So I'm not sure what I should do. The patch seems to be giving me sore spots on my skin.

Your Doctor does not know what he is doing. Ok, you should get weekly injections to keep the blood levels balanced out. Your Doctor want to give you once a month???
Thats nonsense!! So, If I were you, unless you feel real comfortable with him, I would find another DR. who is an Endocronologist or a HRT Dr. in the area. These Dr.s are afraid to give out injections like HRT standards are- weekly. They look at it like its a felony to give you a controlled substance, but its NOT!! Its a need in many men, nowadays!
Study up on HRT and research it as much as you can, so the next time you walk into an office, you will have MUCH more understanding to the point of asking the Dr. to consider scripting you self-injection. You have to be and act mature about it, not that your not, just saying to be up to his level and you most likely will be more knowledge than the Dr!!
You can do it bro, either stay with him or look somewhere else.
