Ok so here is my "friend's" description..


.5 cc of test cyp.
first shot ever
glut shot


Took at least 30 minutes to get the full nerve.. this is after everything was prepared.. pin.. swabbed the area.. drew the oil..

drawing the oil was tricky at first..

So then the inject... took a couple tries.. not real tries, but stood there with the pin touching skin, but not enough guts to push it in.

Pins are 25g 1.5"

So finally decide to push, and it goes in.. but partly. Really no pain whatsoever, but the pin wont go in, it takes more force then you'd think.

Once the pin is in about .5" the remaining 1 inch just slides right in.

Once in, aspirating is tricky, but gets done.

Pushing the oil in is even trickier now.. requires switching leverage.. during this process I think the pin was wobbling around a LOT and looked like it was bending... this is pretty scary to see.. can't feel anything, but looks scary..

as oil is being pushed in, it looks like the pinz is coming out.. so have to push the pin in again (which it does easily)..

The rest of the oil finally goes in.. easily it seems.

All in all it seemed like a big disaster and its hard to imagine doing it again.

Yeah I think the situation was exasperated because you hear a lot of stories on here about hitting nerves.. veins.. that type of thing.. you gotta wonder, are you gonna fuck yourself up?

Question.. some soreness is common the day after right? How long does it last? Will the site be sore everytime?

Yeah, some, but after .5cc there shouldn't be much. Shouldn't last more than two days. Over time it gets easier and easier to hit the same region with larger injections and little/no soreness. Especially the gluts, quads would be second and delts are third in how much they can tollerate, how quickly pain dissipates etc.

It's been years, but the last I remember was no pain at all. Maybe a small lump, or swelling, but no pain. Just tell your friend to lean on the opposite leg from the side that they are injecting, lift the leg of the injecting side slightly, maybe bend, or release the weight off the injection side would be better phrased. Twist a bit, looking at the aforementioned cheek side, and aim at it like you're playing a game of darts. One swift fluid motion, shouldn't be any pain, and it should go in all the way the first time. Aspirate and inject. Quick and easy.

Learn a different place besides the glutes if you're going to be using 25's; the amount of pressure to get the oil to flow is such that you're going to be wobbling the pin around all the time. Pin wobbling=increased pain/scar tissue. Don't get me wrong -- I love 25's, just hate the glutes... too hard (for me) to keep steady. Steadiness is key...

Try a 23 for your next shot if you're going to hit glutes.

Little higher, but I've only had that happen in the glutes actually. Quads can be a little more sensitive, but not much. Definitely don't want to go 1.5" in the quads, 1" will do ya just fine. Once in a very rare while I will get a strange "electric shock" type feeling when injecting in quads and the whole muscle with twitch that can be scary but doubt it is a problem.

Check out 2 thick's and siteinjections for pics. High upper outer quadrant. Little more chance of hitting a vein, but much easier to control. Personally, I like chest better.

My first injection was never the scariest for some reason. I just said fuck it, and stuck myself in like 3 seconds, yet there have been other days where i have sat there for like 15 minutes waiting.

2thick has a pretty good pic of quad injection too. But here's how I like to shoot quads.

If you're in a seated positon, look down at your quads; now divide the quad evenly into four segments, you'll end up with four rectangle-shaped segments -- two on the inner thigh, two on the outer thigh.

You're going to be shooting on the upper (when standing) outer quadrant; this is the quadrant closest to your hip. To pick your spot, stand up and put the top of your palm (closest to the wrist) at the highest point of your hip bone on the side. Where your (outstretched) middle finger lies is where to shoot. Shoot in that general vicinity.

When I first started shooting quads, it helped to shave just that spot in the shower so I could find it easily. After swabbing your injection area and vial with a cotton swab pad (not cotton balls) (tip: to swab correctly, start in the center and work out in a spiral, not crossing over the same area twice), use the index and middle finger (spaced about an inch apart) of your non-holding hand to press down on the area (you will shoot inbetween the fingers). Use a 1" needle and dart it in (vs. going slowly) (make sure you have the dart positioned so that the lips are turned the right direction for your fingers to plunge/aspirate. Aspirate gently (too hard causes additional pain and can cause veins to collapse from negative pressure). Go about :45 - :60 seconds per CC for injection speed and do not shake. Empty the barrel, pull the dart out swiftly and either band-aid it or use another alcohol pad to cover the injection. You're done. I prefer not to massage after injection.

Quads work best for me. 23 of 25 g 1 inch.

Definately hit the upper outer region of the thigh. Only one time though I went through a vein which did not feel nice but I pulled out and tried another spot.
