Any have some good jazz they want to put me on to? I have Miles Davis' Bitches Brew and I like a lot of John Zorn's stuff.

So, anyone help me out with some more stuff?

Coltrane~My Favorite Things

Lenny Breau~Cabin Fever *a local boy..heh* Took a some lessons from his son quite a few years back.

Thelonius Monk~Best of the Blue Note Years

Charles Mingus~The Black Saint & The Sinner Lady

These a just a few off the top of my head I've been listening to lately.

My favorites are coltrane, love supreme and giant steps.

Mingus as above.

Any of the numerous parker compilations.

Those would be my four essentials.

Many others, stan getz, o coleman, are ok, but get redundant compared to the greats.

I only like bebop, can't tell you about fusion, etc, although mahavishnu etc would be an ok start.

Awesome. Thanks for the stuff guys.

I picked up a collection of classic jazz today for pretty cheap. It has got:

The Original Dixieland Jazz Band
King Oliver's Creole Jazz Band
Louis Armstrong and his Hot Seven
Bix Beiderbecke
Benny Goodman
Django Reinhardt
Duke Ellington and his Famous Orchestra
Etc.

I could've sworn that some of that was swing (Django Reinhardt for example) but I'm not complaining, it's a pretty good mix of some classics.
