the bike is in mint condition. not a scratch. its black and purple, with a polished frame, and a new undercut trans, and has a couple engine mods, stage III carb kit(maybe someone can tell me what that is), and a new jet coated pipe, tank bra, and tinted windscreen.
Now the bike has 16,000 miles, but they say it runs perfect. im buyin it from a bike shop, and they told me to bring anyone i want to inspect the bike first, not that i know anyone, and said theyll give me a day to bring it back if i dont like it. the bikes costin me $4,900.
let me know what you think.

What exhaust is it sportin?
That's a fair price, assuming one of the engine mods is an HP kit.
Does anyone know if that bike has an aluminum side-arm?
How do the tires look?

My only tip on buying a used bike, is look on the underside of the engine...if it's clean (like my bikes) they previous owner(s) took good care of it...at least superficially.

im not sure on the exaughst, ill check on it tommorrow, when i pick it up. all i know, is the bike is in alot better condition then alot of the 97'+ bikes i was lookin at. he said the bike was never even left outside, and it looks like it.

Good choice.... that's a whole lot of bike bro.

And they're not that comfortable to ride for a long time, but fun to ride.

Good point, if it's a commuter bike...get a chiropractor on retainer. :)

But yeah, the 94 is a good looking bike. Saw one on google images, nice...very nice.

Is the exhaust carbon fiber slip on or is it actually jet-coated?

YOU COULD FIND A NEWER ONE WITH LESS MILES FOR JUST A LITTLE MORE. PERSONALLY I WOULDNT BUY A BIKE WITH THAT MANY MILES. THEY ARE VERY HIGH REVING ENGINES SO ON A CAR IT WOULD BE EXTREMELY HIGH MILEAGE.

ANYWAY, ARE YOU SURE IT DOESNT HAVE A JET KIT INSTEAD OF A JET COATED PIPE? STAGE 3 CARBS ARE JUST SOME BIG MOFOS. PROBABLY MIKUNI CARBS ON A SUZUKI. I'M NOT SURE.

ALSO, THINK ABOUT WHEN YOU HAVE TO SELL IT. IT WILL BE VERY VERY HARD TO SELL IT FOR WHAT YOU GOT IT FOR WITH IT BEING OLD AND HAVING HIGH MILES. PERFECT CONDITION OR NOT.

IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST BIKE, THEN GO WITH A NEWER SRAD GSXR 750!!! THOSE BAD BOYS RUN LIKE A MOFO.

I THINK YOUR PROBLY RIGHT, I CANT REMEBER WHAT THE GUY SAID EXACTLY.
ABOUT THE MILE THING, I KNOW A GUY WHO SAYS HE PUT 80,000 MILES ON A OLDER CBR 600. HE TOLD ME, ASLONG AS I KEEP UP ON THE OIL CHANGES AND SHIT, THESE BIKSE WILL GO FOREVER. I WAS A LITTLE WORRIED ABOUT THE MILLEAGE ALSO, BUT I CANT FIND A BIKE WITH LOW MILES AROUND HERE FOR ANYTHING. NEARLY EVERY BIKE I SEEN HAD 10,000-30,000 MILES. THE ONES THAT DIDNT, THEY WANTED A FURTUNE. I TAKE GREAT CARE OF MY VEHICLES, MY 99' SUZUKI RM 250 IS SHOWROOM NEW. SO IM HOPIN THIS ONE WILL LAST.

I agree with Kane. Get a newer bike for a little more or even a little less. You have to look at things this way, the only difference between a 1100 and a 750 is the dry weight and the size of the motor. Both bikes will have virtually the same top speed, probably in the neighborhood of 180mph. The only difference is that the 1100 might do it a little quicker, and unless you are a professional racer you will not be able to tell the difference. I personally would not pay that much for a bike that old. It sounds like you are buying someone elses problems. Look around and consider a 750. I guarantee you that you will find a newer bike that is alot nicer for less. You have to worry about a bike that old with engine mods, it may have been ridden to hell and back for all you know. I know it is hard when you want a bike so bad that you just jump on the first thing that comes along, but trust me, I have been through this several times, do not be in a huge hurry and look at all your options. One last thing, I'm not sure of your age and DMV record, but you may want to check out some insurance rates also. The bigger the bike the more it will cost to insure. Just mo .02

my driving record is perfect, not 1 speeding ticket. what does insurance run for a bike.
also, ive been to every bike shop in town, and the surrounding towns. i was actually looking for a 750, but there were only a couple. they were all 7k-8k dollars. some of these bikes were a little roghed up allready, with less then half the millage, and only a couple years old.
im new to street bikes, but not to the car game. it seems to me a older bike, thats in great condition, and cost's less, might be a better value then a bike that has allready been throgh hell, and is only 1-2 years old.

The difference between a 750 and an 100 is HUGE!
Range, speed, handling and pick-up are obviously different.

It does not take a World SuperBike pilot to tell the difference. By the time a 750 hits 65 in third gear an 1100 will be going from third to fourth and around 80-85Mph.

If it wasn't obvious, there would be no consumer demand and therefor no factory 1100's.

Insurance is a bitch on a new one because so many pussies scratch their shit and want it fixed. An upper for my F2 is like 400+. Assinine if you ask me. My point is a used bike is a good idea. Its sooooooo tempting to get a new one foe the 129 or 149/mo. But the ins would make you cry. Good Luck. Turbo that fucker and you're in the 200 club

I just got the insurance bill yesterday for my bike. At the moment I have a 2000 TL1000R. I carry full coverage through nationwide and it costs me about $450 a year. You may also want to check with the insurance company to make sure that they will insure your bike. Some companies have a size limit, usually 750cc, and will not insure anything higher. You might think this sounds stupid, but check on EBAY. I can tell you that I just got a smokin deal on a 2000 Yamaha Warrior. It was a situation where the guy was desperate to sell, and one mans loss was another mans gain. The quad was bone stock with existing warranty so I had nothing to worry about. He even shipped it to me. I will promise you that if you wait, you will find a good price on a newer bike. Maybe even take a road trip to a different state. All you will be out is some gas money and time. I am not saying that the 1100 you found is crap, I just dont want you to be disappointed when it starts to nickel and dime you to death.

Code, you'd usually be right with the difference between the 750's and 1100's, but from everything I've read the gsxr 750 is actually rated higher than the gsxr1100. They make almost identical power except that the 750 makes it much higher on the power band.......meaning you have to keep it spinning. That probably makes it a harder bike to ride in some ways.......it's handling is also supposed to blow the 1100 away.

This will soon change for it is impossible to ride slow!
thats what im affraid of. your the third person to tell me that.
i know it is possible to find a better deal, when i bought my 99' mustang GT, i drove all over fukin florida, dealed with so many asshole sales men, and in the end, went back and bought the first on one i looked at.
im just not ready to go through that headache again, i just want to buy a nice bike and start ridin. ive wanted one forever, and have stuck to dirtbikes for the longest time. im buying the bike from a father son bike shop only a few miles from my house.
also, im gettin 8.5% financing, for 48 months, talked the guy down to $4500 today, and the bikes costin me $102 a month, and i dont have to get insurnce, although, im still gonna see if its reasonable.

oh and Kahn, are you fukin crazy.
